Child care providers often tell us they are bogged down in red tape and too busy to really get a handle on the never ending legal changes affecting the sector as of late.
In an attempt to help ECEC providers stay on top of everything Randstad, a company which specialises in recruitment and HR, has launched Workpocket an employment resource for the early learning sector which aims to centralise and simplify HR legislation.
According to Randstad, Workpocket, which is updated annually, can be used by companies of all sizes to help them manage constantly evolving HR legislation and effectively recruit and retain talent in an increasingly competitive ECEC market place.
In addition, the 2014 Workplace Legislation Update, published as an addendum to Workpocket keeps child care providers up-to-date by offering an overview of all the current and future changes in workplace legislation, which should be factored in to an organisation's HR plan.
Operations Director of Randstad Education Matt Hodges says legislative changes which took effect in 2013 mean that organisations need to demonstrate a certain level of flexibility within their terms and conditions but he says this will open up pay off by helping employers build a more diverse workforce.
"Early learning centres need to take advantage of the growing talent pool available to them and ensure that part time roles and flexible options are a key consideration moving forward," he said.
Randstad says the Workpocket and Workplace Legislation Update help organisations stay abreast of changes in legislation which has the knock-on effect of boosting productivity and performance.
"These are invaluable resources for early childhood educators to effectively manage talent as well as providing tools, advice and guidance on where to go for further assistance," says Mr Hodges.
