Little Jazzys Child Care and Kindergarten

The centre’s cook prepares healthy, fresh meals on-site every day. With a rotating seasonal menu, the centre uses fresh, seasonal and local ingredients. The menu has been carefully designed through collaboration with families and children, and is approved by Nutrition Australia. 

We believe health, nutrition and active play are an integral part of the early years, in setting the foundation for individual health and physical wellbeing. We cater for all the cultural and dietary needs of our children and plan our menus using the Promoting Healthy Eating Advisory Service and our involvement with Deakin University on food waste control measures.

Little Jazzy’s Centre Philosophy

Little Jazzy’s would like to acknowledge the First Nations People of the land which we meet on and pay our respects to the elder’s past, present and emerging.

• Little Jazzy's is a family orientated centre made up of a tightknit community of educators, children, and their families. Our staff thrive and emphasis on building trusting, secure and reciprocal relationships. We are a diverse and forward-thinking service with families and educators from all walks of life and we celebrate and respect the differences in our community. We recognise the parents as the child's first teacher. We believe that all children should be treated with equality and their cultural diversity embraced and acknowledged. Our philosophy is created on our knowledge that the Early Childhood years of life are founded on the social, emotional, cognitive, physical and communication development of the individual child.
• At Little Jazzy’s, we provide a free-flowing environment with a wide variety of experiences and activities which allow children to pursue their interests and create many learning opportunities. We acknowledge that we have received a rating of Exceeding and will continue to embed practices and strengthen our approach to learning for all the children at Little Jazzy’s. We adhere to a holistic approach to learning, and we aim to cater for each individual child, their families, educators, and the wider community. We also aim to provide age and developmentally appropriate play spaces that are aesthetically pleasing and inviting for each child that enhance all aspects of a child’s development.
• We are a service that is proud to be a part of the Beyond Blue- Be You community. We recognise and emphasise the importance of all children, educators, and families’ mental health. Little Jazzy’s has created an environment which is a safe zone where all stakeholders are able to express themselves freely with confidence, dignity, and respect.
• Our professional standards are guided by the ECA Code of Ethics, United Nations Convention on the Rights of Children, Child Safe Standards and the Commission for Children and Young People. These guidelines and standards form part of our employment kits and ongoing training during employment and ongoing expectations of employment thus ensuring each and every child is treated with dignity and respect.
• Our Centre advocates for sustainable practices through intentional teaching moments and creating sustainable practices which follow children’s interests. These intentional teaching moments enhance children, educators and families’ practices to continue to embed sustainability in their own homes and we strive to create a better future for the leaders of tomorrow which are the children in our care.
