If you are keen to further your understanding about ACECQA's quality ratings under the National Quality Standard, then you'd be wise to set aside some time to check out the two occasional papers ACECQA has published on Quality Areas 1 and 2.
ACECQA says the purpose of the occasional series papers is to provide insight into the NQS quality ratings for eduation and care services in Australia.
The first paper in the occasional series examines Quality Area 1 – Educational Program and Practice, with the focus on how service providers perform against the standards and elements of this area.
The paper examines the pattern of quality ratings across the different service types, socio economic and remoteness classifications, jurisdictions and management types.
The second paper in the series looks into Quality Area 2 – Children's Health and Safety, which is one of the primary objectives of the National Quality Framework and aims to ensure the health, safety and wellbeing of all children attending education and care services.
The paper provides a detailed analysis of the requirements of Quality Area 2 and highlights Standard 2.3 and Element 2.3.3 as the most challenging aspects of this Quality Area for services to meet.
