Every year, nominations for the awards come from families, friends, colleagues and parents and to qualify as a finalist each nominee was required to provide a written submission demonstrating their achievements in practice and commitment to five key areas aligned with the National Quality Standards.
The four National Winners will share in over $50,000 in prizes including training and professional development grants and were selected from 18 State Winners. They were also required to meet with the judging panel to demonstrate their commitment to professional practice, ongoing quality improvement and innovation.
Judging Chairman and Australian Family Managing Director, Paul Clancy said it was hard to choose the national winners as the standard of nominees was very high.
"…Congratulations to this year's National Winners, each of you should be incredibly proud of your win and especially your dedication to the early years' education and care sector. As it is each year, it has been an incredibly tough judging process with a very high calibre of professionals in the sector committed, above and beyond, to the National Quality Standards," he said.
