Today is White Ribbon Day so take the oath to prevent men's violence against women.
It's our last issue of the year so we've got your essential child care checklist for the summer. If you haven't yet managed to secure child care for 2016, then don't despair, there are still options open to you with our new waitlist passport, vacancy alert and some suggestions to tide you over while you wait.
It's been another busy, rewarding and incredibly quick year. Time flies when you have kids.
Have a fantastic holiday season.

Have you re-enrolled for January?
|

2016 brings a new school year and new enrolments into child care services, pre-schools and schools. Generally speaking, each year is treated separately in early childhood services and there are no rollovers, so it's important to note that you can't be complacent over child care places, even if you've already got one.
Don't miss out on your child's care for next year by forgetting to get those forms in. For Long Day Care, Family Day Care and Out of School Hours Care, there is likely to be a waiting list of parents behind you ready to grab your spot and for some services there is no official rollover policy to keep your place for the following year. The only way to guarantee your spot is to officially re-enrol or enquire with your preferred service to check on your child's position.
Most child care facilities do close down for some of the holiday period and many will have already sent out notes to parents advising of enrolments or re-enrolments for the next year.
If you have not yet received anything, it's worth asking in case it's been lost in transit or is at the bottom of your child's bag.

Summer safety on the land
|
|
|
|
Summer is a fantastic time in Australia. The weather, the holidays, the beach, the outdoor lifestyle that we all love so much.
However, summer in Australia has its fair share of hazards, more so than countries with a temperate climate, no hole in the ozone layer right over them and fewer venomous creepy crawlies.
Yes, pretty much everything that makes Australia great is also a little bit dangerous.
As with pretty much everything bad, small children are much more susceptible and at risk than adults, especially when it comes to sun stroke, heat stroke, drowning and dehydration.
A few key things to remember this summer.

This is our final issue for the year and as such we'd like to take the opportunity to say a huge thank you for your continued support and encouragement over the past 12 months.
For us the highlight of 2015 has been the launch of the brand new CareforKids.com.au website.
Complete with a gorgeous interface and a host of new functions our new website has been designed to make it even easier for parents to find early childhood education and care and for providers to showcase their service.
We also celebrated the second year of the new look ChildcareJobs.com.au, Australia's only dedicated jobs board for the early childhood sector and the expansion of Care Corporate, the premier destination for Australian organisations seeking a better way of caring for employees while doing business.
In 2015 more than 3 million Australian families visited the CareforKids.com.au website to source and secure high quality child care and our position as Australia's most comprehensive child care resource remains firm.
From everyone here at CareforKids.com.au we wish you a happy and peaceful holiday season and we look forward to working with you in 2016.
