Support playgroups all over the country

Playgroups have been around for half a century, providing an extremely valuable, low cost, community-based resource for parents and young children to meet, play and socialise in a familiar and friendly setting.
This year National Playgroup Week will be officially held from 19th of March to 25th of March 2016 and most states will be running events, such as World's Biggest Playgroup Day.
Playgroups are volunteer-led organisations that provide informal, regular playtime sessions where mums, dads, grandparents, caregivers, children and babies can meet together in a relaxed environment.
They're a really good way to meet local parents with children of the same age, share stories and experiences, ask advice, and most importantly to create a locally-based support network and friendships that will often last a lifetime.
Playgroups are set up and run by parents and caregivers, with children choosing from a range of activities set up to meet their varying needs.
They can be held anywhere that is safe for children and where groups of people can meet - community and neighbourhood centres, health clinics, women's centres, preschools and kindergartens, church halls, parks and playgrounds, even in someone's house.
A typical playgroup gathering offers children the opportunity to try a range of activities, which may include music and singing, imaginative play, outdoor and free play, art and craft activities and local outings.
Playgroups are open to all children from 0-5 years and are perfect for creating new experiences and for developing sensory, social and communication skills through fun play-based activities.
