6 unique ways to thank your child care provider |
The end of the year is almost upon us, and that means it's time to start thinking about the best way to thank your child care provider for the incredible hard work they have put in across the year.
Rather than the typical chocolates, candles and coffee mugs that immediately spring to mind, here are a few gift ideas that they will truly love.

Why being bored is a good thing for kids |
As parents, we all feel a certain sense of panic when we hear those two little words "I'm bored". And with the summer break coming up we are often quick to fill calendars with scheduled activities, play dates and camps, to avoid hearing them.
However, by removing unstructured playtime, have we also removed the many opportunities for growth and development, in our own homes?
With busy lives and an increasing reliance on technology for immediate entertainment, children's brains are being wired to always expect constant stimulation and distraction. Busy has become the new cool, and we are all too busy to notice.

In the midst of the craziness of the last few weeks of the year we'd like to stop and say a big thank you to everyone in the CareforKids.com.au community.
2016 has been a huge year for us and as this is our last issue for the year we thought it appropriate to once again acknowledge the ongoing support, encouragement and feedback offered by our community of parents, carers and early childhood professionals.
It's fair to say that without your involvement, CareforKids.com.au would not be the dynamic and responsive resource it currently is and we look forward to evolving even more in 2017.
We hope you have enjoyed using the new CareforKids.com.au website this year and that the enhanced functionality, design and improved tools and resources have made it easier for you to research, search for and secure high quality early education and care services in your area.
We also saw ChildcareJobs.com.au Australia's only dedicated job board improve its presence in the early childhood and care industry and Care Corporate, expand its services to many new Australian organisations seeking a better way of caring for employees while doing business.
You were one of the more than 3.5 million Australian families who visited the CareforKids.com.au website in 2016 and we look forward to watching this number grow in 2017.
From everyone here at CareforKids.com.au have a happy, peaceful and safe holiday season and we'll see you next year.
