I'm an OT and mum to an almost 3 year old. I've been to my fair share of Kinders and know when you... I'm an OT and mum to an almost 3 year old. I've been to my fair share of Kinders and know when you should avoid ones like the plague or what you'd look for in a kinder that cares. My daughter's in a kinder that is meh and getting worse- she never spoke and wasn't challenged for 2 years. It was conveniently located near our house but just not a great centre. This centre has seen my daughter thrive in 3 weeks compared to 2 years at another centre. She naps, she talks, she has fun and today - for the first time ever - I had to carry her to the car because she didn't want to leave kinder. We just sat and played with all of the wooden toys outside of the classroom but this centre cares about it's staff and children. It has an excellent play based curriculum and I honestly wish I had trusted my instincts earlier and moved her when i started having doubts. I feel so confident that I'm making the best choice for having a home away from home and continuing to foster my daughter's love of learning in the early years.
