Uniting Early Learning Westmead Centre overview
New and inclusive community
Uniting Early Learning Westmead has been welcoming children from birth to 5 years since 2021. On Darug land and close to the Westmead Health Precinct, our long day care centre offers engaging and inclusive early education and preschool programs. We understand that sometimes families may need a little extra support, which is why we’re open even during school holidays.
Our commitment to diversity
Our educators value the diverse cultures of our local community and are committed to creating a warm and safe learning space, making every child feel valued and respected. We’re co-located with Uniting Westmead Residential Aged Care, meaning your child has the opportunity to foster intergenerational relationships through social interactions like story time and Tai Chi meditation with our residents.
Nurturing every stage of development
With 3 separate spaces for babies, toddlers and preschoolers, our educators meaningfully contribute to your child’s learning experiences by encouraging their communication, physical development, and social and emotional skills. Through our tailored approach and structured activities such as our Bush Kindy program and shared morning tea, we foster the curiosity of preschoolers, building their sense of independence.
Natural and stimulating learning spaces
We know how important these early years are, which is why we encourage your child to freely explore their creativity and self-expression. This could take them from participating in our outdoor yarning circle, becoming an aspiring artist in our art studio, learning to garden with one of our aged care residents, or caring for our village chickens.
Our early learning centre will provide your child with the tools to make the transition to ‘big school’ easy on them and you.

There's no doubt in my mind that Uniting Early Learning Westmead is one of the best day cares in Sydney, let alone the Parramatta region. We started our son at the age of 11 months and he needed only a couple of days to develop strong bonds with his educators so much so that we were able to drop him off without any tears! At the age of 2, we temporarily moved him to a daycare closer to our home, however it wasn't nearly the same. He was always uneasy about going to daycare and there would be a new educator in the room at almost every morning drop off which added to his anxiety, making this a difficult experience. In our short time there, we found there wasn't the same standard of consistency, attentiveness, flexibility to cater and to be honest, care factor from the staff. After 12 months, for the ultimate benefit of our son and at the time 10 month old daughter, we decided to move them back to Uniting Westmead and we haven't looked back since! The attention to detail by Katrina and the educators within each room is amazing. The rooms, activities, meals, initiatives and communication is extremely considered with the benefit and growth of the children at the forefront of everything. We can't thank the team enough for being part of our children's formative years and we couldn't recommend this daycare enough; so much so that our niece and nephew are now also attending! Read more

My son has been attending Uniting at Westmead for almost 2 years now. The staff are very caring, encouraging and aim to develop our children in many areas to the best of their ability. My son has been able to form genuine trusting relationships with his peers and teachers. There's a focus on appreciating and respecting cultural diversity as well as acknowledging and respecting the First Nations People. Katrina finds time to get to know the children and the dynamic at Uniting and is very personable and approachable. She acts on parent's concerns and requests promptly and kindly. Thank you uniting Westmead! Read more
