What the parents say

What the parents say
This is the best childcare Centre I have ever been to and cannot recommend them enough. The ladies are just lovely.

We cannot be happier with the amazing team at Knox Childcare and Kindergarten. Our eldest was there for 4.5 years and blossomed, as is our youngest. The team are like a second family, and are always after the best for the children. They are supportive, and have an incredibly open and honest communication style.
Chris - parent
I could not recommend this Centre enough! I am updated consistently on what my daughter is doing, including loads of photos.
Jayde - parent
The team and leadership are amazing and I simply can’t rate them high enough. They bring joy to my little one’s day.
Liv - parent
My children have been going to this Centre for almost 3yrs. The staff are very friendly, professional and care about the wellbeing and development of all children. My kids are very happy being at this Centre and feel loved and engaged by the educators. The daily activities are always changing and creative, lots of outdoor space (my sons love the slides) and they find the food delicious, usually going back for an extra serve. We have been very happy at this Centre and would highly recommend this Centre!

Centre philosophy

Centre philosophy
For Knox Childcare and Kindergarten to be a highly innovative centre implementing high quality programs based on the Early Years Learning Framework.
For families, children and communities to have access to a well administered, organised service that meets local needs by offering quality, best practice, individual programs with developmental outcomes and excellent standards.
For employees to be supported in their professional growth through training, networking, career pathways, respectful communications, encouragement, acknowledgment of skills and problem solving challenges.
Be accessible for students, providing an engaging environment where they can actively inquire and reflect while acquiring new skills.
Place a strong emphasis in all rooms on embedding sustainable practices and cultural diversity into our everyday activities.
We wish for our children to look back on their time with us with fond memories of the friendships made and experiences shared and see us as a cherished part of their childhood.
Programs

Programs
Yoga program: the children take part in Fun-Key Yoga, an animated and creative well being program designed to develop balance, strength and coordination in a playful environment.
Sports program: the children take part in the Hey Dee Ho Active8 physical activity program. The program is designed to encourage the children to experience a wide range of movement activities and be encouraged to think, create, construct and solve problems with their own bodies.
Regular incursions: throughout the year the children have visits from various groups to run activities including music programs, drumming or cultural activities such as Chinese New Year celebrations.
Language program: the children take part in the digital ELLA program to learn new languages. The centre also has many bilingual educators.
STEM program: the centre uses the digital ELSA program to teach the children about science, technology, engineering and mathematics in a fun way.
About the curriculum

About the curriculum
6 weeks - 2 years
The educators focus on building the children’s independence and encouraging activities that develop their social, emotional, gross motor and fine motor skills.
The children develop relationships with the educators, which helps them to feel safe and secure in their environment, and a sense of belonging. There is a separate sleeping area for the children who need a daytime rest.
2 years - 3 years
The children are cared for in a ratio of one educator for every four children. The educators encourage the children to take care of their own belongings and will begin work on toilet training if the child is ready. Singing, dancing, drawing and painting are all favourite activities of this age group and are a daily part of the centre’s program.
3 years - 4 years
The educators seek to build independence in the children and to become more social with their friends. The children take part in role play experiences and group times, as well as learning more about the world and environment through science and group discussions.
4 years - 5 years
The kindergarten room is a small, structured, separate area for the children who are going to school the following year. The school readiness program has a strong educational focus and will prepare the children for the new routine of school life. The children take part in individual as well as group activities, and a lot of time is spent playing outside to develop their gross motor skills. Children will gain an understanding of healthy living through activities, cooking experiences and involvement in serving meals.
