My little one started at Kijo Care in February this year and it’s been her first experience of daycare. Ava has come on leaps and bounds since attending in her confidence & speech. All the educators are so caring & compassionate on drop offs which sometimes there can be tears (but not for long) I pick Ava up & the first thing she tells me is ‘iv had fun’ it’s heart warming to know when I’m away from her she’s happy & with people who genuinely care. This was Frankie and Casey’s drop off this morning (sent video of them happily waving goodbye out the window) , educators were near by but didn’t even need to assist me, it’s their 5th day and they are already this comfortable and so happy to be back. Coming from a mum and an educator, this was the most comforting moment I could ask for after our stressful preschool journey. From having mornings that are so hard for us, having big tears every drop off and myself driving back home to work feeling so guilty for leaving them in a place where they are uncomfortable, to them being so happy to be with you all is incredible. In January 2012 the National Quality Framework (NQF) came into effect across Australia.
The purpose of the NQF is to improve and standardise the quality of child care through a
range of measures including better staff to child ratios, higher staff qualifications
and an assessment and rating system designed to promote continuous improvement.
Under the NQF child care services are assessed and rated against the National Quality Standards (NQS).
The NQS measures the quality of early childhood education and care in Australia. It will cover
most long day care, family day care, preschool/kindergarten and outside school hours care services.
Under these standards child care services will be assessed and rated against the
seven quality areas, 18 standards and 58 elements that make up the NQS.
