Since starting at the beginning of the year she has learned so much, her vocabulary has improved, she shows a lot of interest in creative activities and has learned to play more independently. I know that she is in good hands when she is at daycare. The facilities are beautiful and always clean. Nutritious meals and snacks are prepared on site and always smell delicious. Most importantly I feel I can trust the educators as they show genuine care for her wellbeing and development. They are organised with fun and educational activities every day and keep me updated on how my daughters day was :) Read more

I would like to share some of our experiences at Giggle and Learn, towards the end of our time there, we had to pull our daughter out before we had placement at another centre due to several concerns we had. 1. Our daughter would cry almost every time we would prepare to go to giggle and learn and it got worse over time. We are now at a new centre and she cannot wait to go to daycare, she is always happy and often doesn’t want to leave when we are there to pick her up. This reinforced to us that Giggle and Learn was the issue rather than our daughters reluctance to go to daycare. 2. On one occasion, when I went to pick up my daughter, she was crying on her own far away from the group without any of the staff members paying any attention. It was only after I walked in that they suddenly became "concerned" and attended to her. 3. The sign-in tablet would show that our daughter was already signed out when my wife would be attempting to sign out . When questioned, the staff would simply say that they had signed her out on our behalf. 4. The daily reports we received seemed very generic and did not give us an accurate picture of our daughter's day. For example, they would often say that she had eaten all her meals and had a nap, but we knew that our daughter was a picky eater and a very light eater at that. We also knew when she had napped or not napped, but the reports did not align with our observations. This lack of attention to detail made us feel uneasy about what kind of care our daughter was receiving. The positive for us is that our daughter couldnt be happier with her new day care centre, after seeing the change in her and seeing her joy I felt it would be wrong for us to not share this experience in the hope that there can be a positive change. Sometimes we all need to be reminded of why we chose our careers, it’s not an easy gig by any means but the kids are our most precious gift and if you don’t love working with children then maybe it’s not for you.
