Community Kids Horsham Early Education Centre

Our centre chef prepares and cooks healthy and nutritious meals daily, catering to the unique dietary requirements of every child. We believe that by encouraging active participation (such as growing their own fruit and vegetables, preparing, and finally cooking!) children learn to appreciate and understand the importance of healthy eating. 

Our centre offers children nutrient-rich, unprocessed, and seasonal whole foods – created to delight the fussiest eaters.

Hi my name is Billie-Jo, and I am the Centre Manager here at Community Kids Horsham. I began my career in early learning in 2019. I joined Community Kids Horsham as the Lead Educator in early 2021. I hold a Certificate III and a Diploma in Children’s Services and all relevant qualifications including CPR, First Aid, Anaphylaxis and Asthma training.

My time so far has been short but incredible, the amazing bonds I have been able to create with children and their families have been by far the most rewarding part of my journey. I continue to learn, grow and develop in all aspects of my career and am excited for what the future may bring.

I enjoy observing children and following their cues and learning abilities to be able to provide them the best outcome to further extend on their abilities and knowledge. I enjoy encouraging children to discover their interests and provide them with opportunities to grow and develop. When children move, touch, and experience, they learn better.

A dedicated Early Childhood Education and Care environment allows us to foster a sense of belonging for both the child and the parents. When parents and educators find a way to collaborate it strengthens the child's identity and enhances their learning.

Our centre has a team of dedicated and compassionate educators who are available to children and families as All our educators work collaboratively to improve practice through team meetings, professional development, and reflection on practice. Our educators are caring and nurturing and provide the children with many opportunities for learning through play.

All team members hold a First Aid certificate and update CPR, anaphylaxis, and asthma every year. We also complete extensive child protection training yearly to ensure we are up to date with the most relevant information and procedures. We are committed to the safety and wellbeing of all children, young people, and families. We support the rights of the child and will act to ensure a child safe environment is always maintained.

Communication is key in maintaining strong relationships with our families. We send emails, notifications on our all-in-one family app, notices on doors and notice boards as well as verbal reminders. In our reception area we have a borrowing library with a great selection of books you’re welcome to borrow. During the year we hold fundraising for charities, special days, and cultural celebrations.
