Championing children and all they can be
Niño’s mindful curriculum is built around flexible indoor and outdoor learning environments. Working together with families, we create individual learning programs that consider interests, physical, personal, social and emotional wellbeing as well as cognitive aspects of learning.
Guided by the Early Years Learning Framework of Australia, our unique education curriculum harnesses the theory of emergent learning and the science of positive psychology.
Nutrition
Niño is passionate about the importance of nutritional education at an early age.
Our Nutritional Ambassador, Lauren Burns is an Olympic gold medallist and a leading nutritionist who shares our passion for building healthy eating habits for life.
In collaboration with our centre chefs, Lauren has developed a fresh, seasonally influenced and nutritionally balanced menu that tastes great and enhances wellbeing. All food is cooked onsite daily and is adjusted for individual dietary requirements. It’s not only healthy, it’s food they’ll love to eat.

About the curriculum
About the curriculum
Niño Early Learning Adventures Ashburton seeks to ensure that your child develops a nurturing relationship with a primary educator, which helps them to develop a sense of trust, security and safety. They work with your family to develop goals for your child, seeking to understand what your little one needs in order to grow, learn and thrive.
Inquisitive and busy toddlers are nurtured and empowered by Niño Early Learning Adventures Ashburton’s qualified educators, giving the children a sense of ownership of their learning.
The toddler program encourages discovery, mastery and self-regulation to inspire a love of learning and a desire to explore and create. The educators work in collaboration with families on key milestones during this action-packed developmental stage, such as toilet training and independence at mealtimes.
As the children grow, they move into Niño Early Learning Adventures Ashburton’s kindergarten program to prepare them for the next stage of their life at ‘big school.’
Led by a Bachelor Qualified Teacher and a Diploma Qualified Educator, the 3 year old program is designed to help build confidence, a sense of belonging and a love of adventure. They find out what makes your child tick, what gets them excited, and factor this into their play.
In the 4 year old kindergarten program, a Bachelor Qualified Teacher and a Diploma Qualified Educator prepare individualised experiences depending on the interests of the child. They encourage them to take part in activities that they are likely to experience in primary school.
Health & nutrition
Health & nutrition
Niño ELA Ashburton is passionate about your child’s nutritional education. Children are encouraged to help plant and harvest food from the vegetable garden, share meals with their friends, and reduce their food waste by composting their scraps.
Niño ELA Ashburton’s Nutritional Ambassador, Dr Lauren Burn, is an Olympic gold medallist and a leading nutritionist who shares the centre’s passion for building healthy eating habits for life.
In collaboration with their in-house chefs, Lauren has developed a fresh, seasonally influenced and nutritionally balanced menu that tastes great and enhances wellbeing. All food is cooked on site daily and is adjusted for individual dietary requirements. It’s not only healthy, it’s food they’ll love to eat.
Think waffles, muffins, toast and cereal for breakfast; crumbed fish or pasta bake for lunch; vegetable dip, yoghurt, wholesome cake and seasonal fruit for snacks. By eating together at a communal table, the children learn positive habits around food that will benefit them for life.

Morning
Jamie is six months old and gets dropped off by his Dad who then catches the bus to work from out the front. Jamie always settles in quickly as his favourite educator is there to greet him in the morning.
Lunch
Jamie enjoys some lunch with the other nursery children before a quick clean up, some books, and some milk. He heads off for a rest with some of the other children, so they’ll have lots of energy for the afternoon.
Afternoon
Jamie’s educators have set up lots of interesting objects on the mat outside to explore. Jamie loves the feel of the pine cones, big shells and leaves.
Morning
Matilda is 15 months old and enjoys music and dancing. Today the educators are pumping out some tunes so that the toddlers can have a dance together.
Lunch
After lunch, Matilda joins her friends for some art in the outdoors. They’ve got sticks that they’re dipping in brightly coloured paint, to create some interesting artworks.
Afternoon
Matilda has lots of energy, so the educators encourage her to have some fun on the outdoor slide and climbing equipment. She and her friends love making their own fun adventures together.
Morning
Alec is three years old and loves to help out in the kitchen. Today the chef has the pre-schoolers cooking some healthy blueberry muffins that they can enjoy for morning tea. Alec helps to add the blueberries and mix the batter.
Lunch
After lunch the pre-schoolers enjoy their weekly yoga class. Alec is getting better each week and he is able to recognise the names of the poses as the educator explains them.
Afternoon
Spanish lessons are lots of fun for Alec, as they involve fun games and singing. Today they are learning some popular Spanish nursery rhymes, with some easy to follow actions.

They made it feel like a 2nd home the moment we started here. Our son spent just under 2yrs here and loved every bit. The carers are all so nurturing and inclusive, whenever we pick up, they always provide a detail update of what our son's been up to and how he's developing.
