Blossom Preschool - Sans Souci

The community and natural environment are the focus of the programs at Blossom Preschool. The children learn about sustainability and the importance of caring for the planet through different gardening activities in their daily routines. They learn to be mindful of the environment and about their role as custodians of nature. 

The educators work closely with families and the broader community to ensure the children’s wellbeing and sense of belonging. These relationships are extended through incursions, excursions and family visitors. The children also learn to appreciate and understand Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Perspectives, which are embedded into the program.

The 'School Readiness' program provides children with a range of activities that will help them be ready for 'Big School'. The 'Happy Feet' program draws on the fun of movement and dance, the creativity of music, and the joy of active play.

The holistic, play-based curriculum at Blossom Preschool is designed to develop the whole child and lay the foundations the children will need throughout their education. Aligned with the Early Years Learning Framework, the educators work collaboratively across the team as well as with parents and children. 

The Children learn through a number of different mediums, including the use of an  Interactive SmartBoard, combined with other engaging modern electronics allow the children to be comfortable to embrace technology as part of their learning. The children are invited to explore a wide range of context from different sources and share these with their peers.

The curriculum teaches the children to develop problem solving skills, express their creativity and learn with their peers respectfully. Learning areas include:

Healthy and delicious meals and snacks are prepared daily by an in-house cook using fresh ingredients and seasonal produce. Meal times are not just about eating. They provide a fantastic opportunity for children to experience new tastes and textures, and to gather together socially. It is also considered a great opportunity for social and language development, as well as other important skills like self-help and hygiene.
