Edge Early Learning Higgins provides childcare and preschool programs tailored to children from 6 weeks to school age.
The team of passionate educators are passionate about incorporating health, wellbeing, and sustainability into the children's educational program. The children enjoy learning about recycling, our native flora and fauna, caring for Duncan the centre chicken, and they especially love tending to our green wall where we trim and propagate new plants from. The program also has a focus on successful transitions to school, each child also receives a personalised program to provide the best early learning experience and aid in their growth and development.
They are well-connected with our local schools, businesses, and services within the Higgins community. The children enjoy visiting the residents at The Henry Retirement Village and sharing stories, activities, and letters with one another. Their peers at Belconnen High School also love to stop by to read stories and share lessons with the children, which creates such a sense of excitement about starting school.
Their in-house chef cooks the children’s meals on-site and caters to any dietary requirements, ensuring all children get the nutrition they need to sustain active learning throughout the day.

In January 2012 the National Quality Framework (NQF) came into effect across Australia.
The purpose of the NQF is to improve and standardise the quality of child care through a
range of measures including better staff to child ratios, higher staff qualifications
and an assessment and rating system designed to promote continuous improvement.
Under the NQF child care services are assessed and rated against the National Quality Standards (NQS).
The NQS measures the quality of early childhood education and care in Australia. It will cover
most long day care, family day care, preschool/kindergarten and outside school hours care services.
Under these standards child care services will be assessed and rated against the
seven quality areas, 18 standards and 58 elements that make up the NQS.
