Swan Academy Auburn
Swan Academy Auburn Centre overview
Welcome to Swan Academy
Swan Academy caters for children aged 0-6 years old across all centres. Our philosophy is inspired by the Montessori and Reggio Emillia approaches to teaching and learning. We ensure your child’s talents and natural abilities are nurtured through enjoyable and constructive experiences.
Our passionate and dedicated team of educators are committed to make the first 6 years of your children’s lives the beginning of a most memorable journey of lifelong learning.
Our Curriculum
Holistic approaches to teaching and learning.
Our curriculum is based on negotiation and collaboration between children, families and educators. We develop programs that are responsive, flexible and connect with children’s everyday lives. Our curriculum expands and builds upon children’s ideas, interests and questions while taking into account each child’s physical, social, emotional and cognitive aspects.
Learning through play
We create environments that provide children with opportunities to initiate their own dramatic play. Play creates opportunities for the children to enhance their learning and make sense of the world as they discover, imagine, imitate, create and improvise. During their play, children build new understandings by testing out ideas, engaging in critical thinking and challenging each other thinking. We enhance children’s learning through play by providing time to allow meaningful interactions; listening and responding to their questions and comments; providing open-ended resources and guiding them to become aware of fairness and respect for others.
We understand the importance of the early years. Therefore, our qualified educators are devoted to build long lasting partnership with you to ensure the best outcome for the children. We are looking forward to meet and get to know you in the near future.

Programs
Programs
Swan Academy Auburn follows the Montessori approach, so children are working with educators to develop their independence by taking part in self help skills.
Some of the programs at the centre include:
Yoga and music/movement program: every day, the children are engaged with programs relating to music and yoga.
Regular incursions and excursions: the children enjoy visits from emergency service personnel, bug shows, sea life shows, and an Australian wildlife show.
About the curriculum
About the curriculum
6 weeks - 2 years
The children enjoy a lot of one on one interactions with the educators to develop a sense of security and belonging. They take part in sensory play and activities, learning about themselves, and small group time. The individual children’s home routines are followed by the educators.
2 years - 3 years
The curious toddlers are provided with a variety of activities including introductions to literacy and numeracy. Children’s independence is encouraged and nurtured. The educators work in partnership with families during toilet training as part of their preparation for preschool classrooms.
3 years- 5 years
Children’s voices and ideas are respected, encouraged and fostered. The children take part in a school readiness program which includes literacy, numeracy and social skills in the daily program. Children are provided with planned activities as well as opportunities to choose their own play. Group discussions are essential parts of the program and determine future interests/program. The educators work in partnership with local primary schools to prepare children for their transition to school.

My son was attending this care from 9 months to 3 years old. All the teachers are excellent and caring, and best of all, they are welcoming and greet both the child and parents with a happy smile and hug both in the morning and evening after a tiring day managing children (this set a benchmark for choosing a daycare for my son when we moved interstate). The centre's activities are fun, creative and engaging. Under the leadership of Ummu, we can see this daycare flourishing and taking off to an even higher level. The rooms are airy, clean, spacious, and the outdoor area is excellent, too, with cycling, gardening and other outdoor activities. Drop-offs and pick-ups are convenient, with plenty of parking options in the basement. There are a variety of toys, and they also rotate the resources frequently. They had a unique and interactive group time with rhymes and stories; my son could communicate and narrate very well. The teachers motivate the kids and provide plenty of opportunities and exposure. As a result, we saw active participation from many kids. Teachers post the activities and send updates about our kids regularly. They are hard-working and passionate. They listen to our concerns, respond promptly, and work closely with the parents, providing excellent outcomes. As parents, we feel safe and secure and are at peace sending my kid here under their care and love. I can't thank everyone at this centre enough and highly recommend it, and I'm sure you will be happy with your decision for your kid. Special mention goes to Jessie, Manpreeth, Namratha, Fatima, Rashmi, Sanchita and Ummu. My gratitude to all the teachers, and you remain in our hearts forever as you are the first teachers in my son's life. Read more
