Green Leaves Early Learning Merrifield Centre overview
Green Leaves Early Learning Merrifield offers care for children from 6 weeks to school age. This architecturally designed centre is open from 6:30am – 6:30pm. Conveniently located outside Merrifield City Shopping Centre, providing plenty of parking for our families.
Quality care is the focus at this centre, offering a wide variety of extracurricular activities including cooking, music, yoga, and regular excursions. The Educators use only high-quality, sustainable materials in the learning space, and sustainability is a focus of the learning program.
Outside, the children love to play on the bike track, in the cubby house, or help out with the centre’s veggie garden. For parents, a complimentary coffee and baked treat in the family lounge is a relaxing way to start the day.

About the Curriculum
About the Curriculum
6 weeks - 12 months
The passionate and experienced Educators work closely with families to ensure each baby’s routine is personalised to meet their individual needs. The children take part in activities within a stimulating learning environment. They enjoy group time for their music and movement program or special guests that come into the centre. They eat their meals and snacks with their friends under the guidance of their Educators. They enjoy taking part in songs and storytelling, sensory activities, and messy play in the garden. At nap time, they are taken into the sleeping area where gentle music and a twinkling night sky encourages them to rest.
2 years - 3 years
The Educators recognise that routines for toddlers are an important opportunity for learning. Performing daily, predictable tasks while having fun is a chance for toddlers to build their self-confidence, communication and social skills and the ability to develop their self-control. The toddlers enjoy a daily rhythmic routine which assists them to transition between activities throughout the day. They take part in activities such as music, yoga, cooking, painting, drawing, singing and dancing, STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math), based activities and the centre’s sustainability program. They also enjoy eating their meals and snacks with their friends and Educators.
3 years – 4 years
During the early years, a child’s brain is at its most flexible, making it the perfect age for learning new skills and acquiring knowledge.
Green Leaves Early Learning’s Pre-Kindergarten program is designed to provide the children with a well-rounded play based learning experience.
Supported by qualified and experienced Educators, curious children learn key skills such as creative thinking and problem-solving, develop social and emotional skills, as well as early literacy and language skills – which lays the groundwork for success later in life.
4 years - 6 years
The Educators ensure the children’s environment is fun and inviting, encouraging quality play-based experiences to help them to develop memory skills, language development and behaviour regulation, supporting the transition to school and academic learning later on in life. The children enjoy yoga, visits from special guests, and regular excursions to local parklands. They enjoy regular meals and snacks with their friends and Educators, helping to set up, serve and clear away afterwards. Other activities include literacy and numeracy games, outdoor fun with the sustainability curriculum, and STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math) activities to help encourage children to think creatively and critically.
