At Clovel Childcare & Early Learning Centre, caring educators deliver a holistic learning program to benefit cognitive, social, emotional and physical skills. The educators also consider the children’s general health and wellbeing in delivering the programs.
Books and reading are an essential part of childhood. The centre’s literacy program focuses on introducing children to the alphabet, helping them learn to read - visually, phonetically and through sound. They are also encouraged to engage with reading through the ‘First readers’ series of books.
Children start to learn about numbers and mathematical concepts at a young age. Educators build on this intuitive learning by introducing addition and subtraction and concepts of time, weight and length. This helps children become ‘maths aware’ before transitioning to kindergarten.
Similarly, educators introduce science with a fun program of exploration and discovery. This aims to improve social interaction, promote patience and understanding, and show young ones how to deal with different perspectives on the same topic.
Understanding that mind and body go hand-in-hand, educators focus on building both cognitive and physical skills, especially during the intense development period of 2 to 6 years. To encourage physical activity, the fun and varied outdoor program includes ball games, climbing, obstacle courses and parachute play.
To encourage creativity, children also take part in a performing arts program that includes drama, dance, singing and public speaking. This helps build self-confidence, self-esteem and a sense of self-worth.

Parent communication and involvement
Parent communication and involvement
Clovel Ryde proudly fosters quality relationships with parents and families based on mutual respect and open communication. This helps build a true partnership to ensure every child’s well-being is front and centre. Families are welcome to discuss their child’s activities and progress at any stage, and to join in regular centre events.
The centre uses the free Kindyhub App for interactive communication with families. Educators keep parents updated with details and photos of the children’s activities and milestones. It also provides a handy way for educators and families to communicate quickly and easily.
About the curriculum
About the curriculum
Traditionally, preschool begins at 3 years of age. However, Clovel’s preschool program responds to research suggesting valuable opportunities for child development may be lost if learning only begins then. As such, the centre begins each child’s individual early learning and development program from 6 weeks of age.
The Clovel Ryde team nurtures babies with loving care and enriching early learning. Early learning is a key part of healthy brain development in babies and as part of the centre’s Brain Linkage program, educators provide activities that assist in developing a baby's fine motor, gross motor, brain wiring and balancing skills. This includes tummy time, crawling, shape sorters, gym ball, balance beam and baby massage.
For older children, educators plan exciting activities that provide opportunities for socialising, problem solving and creativity, and that foster positive self-esteem and belonging. This helps prepare children for school by encouraging independence, individuality and a lifelong love of learning.

They look after my son from 4 months old to 5 years now. All teachers are passionate and patient. Everyday my son enjoyed different fun activities and seasonal celebration. It's a small but lovely community. The incharge Hanna is kind and reliable. I am grateful my son can be looked after by them and I will definitely recommend it to other families! Read more

Walked past on my way to Piccolo Me cafe and just witnessed an educator angrily scold, belittle and rough handle a small toddler (about 2 years old) for whining for what she deemed was too long. The educator then lifted the child aggressively by the upper arms and then dumped her roughly on a wooden seat, which would have hurt the child. Unsurprisingly, the child started wailing and crying for her mother even louder. Pretty awful experience to see walking past, I would hate for this kind of behaviour to happen to my own children who are around that age, very disappointing to see when you trust these educators to have the professional ability to gently handle situations like this.
