About the curriculum
About the curriculum
3 months +
The program for the babies respects and follows each child's own routine from home. The educators provide a safe and secure environment that allows for each child’s social, emotional, cognitive and physical development. The children's interests help shape the intentional and spontaneous teaching aspect to the program. The babies enjoy both calm and stimulating environments, with plenty of rest, gentle play and safe exploration.
1 year - 2 years
The experienced and compassionate educators are attentive, comforting and listening to the toddlers at their level. They enjoy singing sessions, story time, science, craft time, sand and water play. The program is based on the children's interests and their developmental milestones. Educators encourage imagination through art to express emotions and ideas. From drawing and painting to music, dancing and theatrical performance, the activities help promote creative thinking and personal expression. With a variety of craft, books, construction, puzzles and natural materials, their language, literacy and numeracy experiences are integrated through every aspect of their daily journey.
Early Pre-Kinder: 2 years - 3 years
The children enjoy their singing sessions, story time, science, craft time, sand and water play. Educators support and nurture the children’s growing confidence as they move to greater independence, gently preparing them for their journey towards kinder. Educators support parents with toilet training and other independent tasks such as meal times and dressing. The children enjoy lots of outdoor play, no matter the weather.
Late Pre-Kinder: 2 years - 3 years
Educators seek to foster the children’s independence while providing them a safe base to build from. Toddlerhood features plenty of significant milestones in their cognitive and social development. The centre’s Pre-Kinder program offers plenty of opportunities to these busy little people through social, emotional, physical, cognitive, language, creative, cultural and environmental learning. All children are encouraged to interact in group play, to teach the values of sharing and cooperation as they develop friendships.
3 years - 4 years
The educators support the children as their emotional and language skills develop. They learn to explore their feelings and become more interested in making friends and playing with other children. The program is derived from the children’s interests and supports their development based on age appropriate milestones, with a play-based approach. Educators focus on particular topics children want to learn and explore these through a variety of mediums in which they can relate, learn and converse. The children enjoy messy play, construction, pretend play, stories, counting, songs and small group activities.
4 years - 5 years
The educators are there to guide each child to prepare them for the next exciting stage of their educational journey. Children at this age are emerging as confident, independent little people with their own thoughts and ideas about the world around them. Educators place a high emphasis on the environment both indoors and outdoors, to ensure that there are opportunities for children to explore, discover and engage in learning. Children take part in activities such as music, science, interest based activities, yoga, outdoor play experiences and educational excursions within the local community.

We wholeheartedly appreciate what a big decision it is for parents to entrust us with their child. Your confidence largely rests on the people who will take care of your most valuable asset! This is why our most valuable asset is our staff.
We pride ourselves on having committed, experienced educators with a long history with us. Building relationships with staff creates trust and security for both parents and children.
The centre is guided by four pillars: trust, security, support and growth. I believe Sentia Early Learning is a truly magical place.
Angela, Centre Director
Our program is centred around providing our children with a supportive and welcoming environment that encourages them to be who they are as individuals and embraces cultural diversity and beliefs.
Erika, Educational Leader
Health & nutrition
Health & nutrition
The educators see food as an integral part of the children’s day, not only as healthy nourishment, but as a way to learn more about the food, it’s sources, different cultures and the importance of connection and the conversations it brings.
Educators and children come together for each meal to enjoy what the in-house chef has prepared for the day. The six week rotating menus are inspired by fresh, seasonal produce and veggies from their own patch outside.
Children help prepare the food, allowing them to explore ingredients, experience the joy of cooking and presenting a meal through to eating the delicious end-result. By introducing them to a world of delicious flavours and being involved in the process, it helps encourage children to try new foods.
The meals each day include breakfast, morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea. This is an egg and nut free centre, and they always offer meals that meet all children's dietary and cultural requirements.
