About the curriculum

About the curriculum
The nursery aims to meet the varying individual needs of each child and support them to develop their milestones. A calm and loving environment is provided for the children to thrive.
The Toddlers room further extends on each child’s skills and independence with a focus on language development, concentration, turn taking and learning skills and concepts.
The learning goals for the pre-schoolers age group is to develop each child to their full potential. There's a focus on literacy and numeracy skills and development of social and emotional skills to assist the children with their transition into the school environment.

Health & nutrition
The menu at Kiddiwinks Bligh Park is approved by NSW Health and meets all the dietary requirements for children. With a variety of cooking experiences within the program, children will go on a food journey and learn to value healthy eating.
The centre caters for all allergies and cultures of the children, with a 4 week rotating menu. The centre incorporates healthy eating and exercise into the curriculum, as part of the NSW Health Munch & Move Program.
To make life easier for busy families, the centre also offers take home family meals to help get dinner on the table.

Morning
Kate is ten months old and is sitting outside with her friends and educator while they check on the vegetable gardens and see which plants need some water.
Lunchtime
Kate has finished her lunch with her friends, and is now sitting with her educator to read a story. Soon she will have some milk and a nap in the sleeping area.
Afternoon
The educators have set up the children with some treasure baskets to explore. Kate looks at the different materials, foam balls, feathers and pinecones inside.
Morning
Jack is two years old and loves to start his day outside. He and his friends are enjoying some messy play in the sandpit and mud kitchen.
Lunchtime
Jack loves to cook, so he is happy to help the centre chef put some topping on the pizzas for lunch today. Extra grated cheese goes on Jack’s pizza.
Afternoon
Jack and other children are taking part in the centre’s dance program. Jack is having a ball doing some big jumps and spins around the room to fun music.
Morning
Yasmin is four years old and on a hot day she and her friends love to play on the centre’s splash pad. She brings a spare change of clothes to put on after she has cooled off.
Lunchtime
Yasmin loves to borrow books from the centre’s own library. Today she is looking for one about animals as she is thinking she might like to be a vet one day.
Afternoon
Yasmin and the other preschoolers are taking part in the centre’s weekly yoga program. Yasmin loves the relaxing part at the end where everyone sits quietly on their yoga mat.
