Our daughter had an immensely joyful time at Acacia ELC, leaving our family with countless cherished memories. After she departed from Acacia ELC, we wrote a heartfelt letter of gratitude to Community Services #1. The following is an excerpt from that letter: …… 3. The Many Touching Stories of Acacia ELC During the months our daughter spent at Acacia ELC, we personally witnessed and heard numerous heartwarming stories about the centre's care and dedication to all children: ○ Supporting a parent battling cancer: One parent, diagnosed with Stage 3 cancer and with a severely compromised immune system, still chose to send their child to Acacia ELC because the child loved being there. To minimise the risk of illness, Acacia ELC implemented even stricter hygiene measures than those in place during the COVID-19 pandemic. ○ Handling medical emergencies with exceptional care: When a child experienced febrile seizures at the centre, Ms. E (the Centre Director) immediately coordinated the response—staff called an ambulance, she personally informed the parents, and she managed communication with all relevant parties. Even after the child was hospitalised, she remained in contact with the parents throughout the entire weekend to check on their child's condition. ○ Helping children adapt to a new environment: Some children initially struggle with the transition to Acacia ELC. In such cases, Ms. E and Ms. T (the Assistant Director) ensure that educators spend extra one-on-one time with them to build trust and help them feel comfortable in their new setting. ○ Providing highly individualised care: Ms. E and Ms. T frequently communicate with parents about their child's experiences at home, enabling educators to tailor their approach based on each child's and family's unique circumstances. ○ Ensuring equal respect for all children: We observed a child who seemed to have a disability. Caring for this child must require extra effort and patience, yet Acacia ELC treats every child with equal dignity and respect, ensuring that children with disabilities never feel different from their peers. I am certain that what we have witnessed and heard is only a small part of what Acacia ELC has done for children and families. However, we are confident that every educator at Acacia ELC genuinely prioritises the well-being of children and their families. …… 4. Acacia ELC—A Place of Cherished Memories We have captured countless precious memories of Acacia ELC in photographs, preserving the environment that meant so much to our daughter. Additionally, we have saved every photo uploaded to OWNA by Acacia ELC, as she loves looking at them—these images allow her to relive the immense joy she experienced at Acacia.
