About the curriculum
About the curriculum
Aligned with the Early Years Learning Framework and inspired by Reggio Emilia teaching environments, Little Kingdom Childcare offers a holistic curriculum. Using a play-based approach to learning, the highly experienced educators use children’s individual interests to draw them into experiences and support their learning.
The child-centred curriculum focuses on the whole child, with meaningful opportunities to develop their cognitive, physical, social and emotional skills. The educators welcome parent and family involvement to give the children the best opportunity to flourish and thrive.
The curriculum for the youngest learners at Little Kingdom is nurturing and supportive. The educators strive to develop a trusting relationship with every child so they feel safe and secure to engage in their learning. Given the vast differences in development over these two years, the educators tailor the goals and milestones to each individual child and their needs.
The focus for the babies is on laying the foundation for the skills the children will need throughout their life. The educators plan meaningful and holistic experiences that allow the children to explore the world around them and learn to express themselves. This includes timmy time, music classes, story time, creative arts, sensory play and outdoor activities.
At a time when children are developing a strong sense of self, the educators support the children to explore and discover in age-appropriate ways. The educators foster the children’s independence as they develop their own identities and interests. This includes encouraging the children to take responsibility for themselves and their belongings.
The toddlers learn about their emotions and how to regulate them. They also start to develop a positive understanding of food and nutrition. Through music and movement, books and stories, songs and rhymes, creative arts, sensory and outdoor play, the children learn in a play-based and engaging environment.
The preschool curriculum is designed to support the children in their transition to primary school and beyond. The curriculum ensures the children are set up for success as they enter the next exciting stage of their education journey.
The preschoolers learn how to express themselves through language and gain a deeper understanding of communication. They are encouraged to develop their resilience, identity, creativity and self-expression. Physical wellbeing is also a priority with a focus on refining fine and gross motor skills, ready for school. Digital literacy and STEM activities also form a large part of the curriculum.
To mark the milestone of transitioning to school, the preschool children also participate in an end of year graduation ceremony. They each receive a portfolio of their preschool development and education.

“I cannot recommend Little Kingdom highly enough. Mariana and the team are wonderful. Everyone is so welcoming, energetic, caring and accommodating. So many fun, educational activities and lots of healthy meals. My little man gets so excited every time we walk into the building. It makes me so happy knowing that he is cared for by such passionate, loving and nurturing educators.”

“My 3 year old daughter has been attending Little Kingdom for 1.5 years now. My nephew attended for 2 years as well before starting kindy. I cannot fault the centre or staff at all. The centre is always kept immaculately clean, the staff are courteous & friendly, and have always gone above and beyond. My daughter's overall development since starting care has been absolutely amazing. Most days when I pick her up she refuses to come home. She loves her friends and especially her teachers. I always feel involved in my child's learning and appreciate the strong communication by staff. I greatly appreciate all staff efforts and cannot thank you all enough!”

“Little Kingdom sets the bar high! I originally had my son in another daycare in the city and switched him to here as I just wasn't feeling it. Walking into LK was a breath of fresh air, I first noticed their values, Love, Nurture, Educate. I second noticed how all their staff genuinely appeared to live those values and 3 years later I know they absolutely do, every day. Their staff turnover appears to be very low unlike other centres I have experienced because their management genuinely cares about providing a great environment for their staff. Which means the staff care about your kids and in turn it makes you feel confident in everything they do. Great range of extra activities, excursions, events and so much fun. Would highly recommend to anyone considering day care in the city. Oh and the view!!!”

“Amazing childcare centre with caring educators and great facilities. After tours at three other centres we felt Little Kingdom was by far the best childcare centre in the city. My first started in the nursery and only recently changed to a local Preschool to make some local friends before starting school next year. My second has also blossomed while attending and just moved up out of nursery. I cannot commend Mariana (Director) and Marianne (Assistant Director) enough for the way they manage Little Kingdom & the family environment they create. The centre policies are more than fair compared to others, low staff turnover, high engagement with parents and great communication.”

Undoubtedly one of the best childcare centers in Sydney—I cannot recommend it highly enough. My son has been attending LKC for two years, and it has truly become his second home. Every morning, he eagerly runs toward the entrance, excited to start his day. My husband and I feel incredibly fortunate to have found this place and have loved it from day one. The space, both indoor and outdoor, is fantastic. It's spacious and beautifully designed, with each room having its own facilities for various activities. Despite being a large center, it maintains a family-like atmosphere. Farhana, the manager, and her exceptional team are remarkable at fostering this sense of community. They offer numerous extra activities such as date nights for parents, yoga, sports, music activities for the children, and excursions. They genuinely care for each child, always being welcoming and helpful, with great attention to detail. A special shoutout goes to the fantastic team of educators. I am continually impressed and incredibly grateful for their outstanding work. They have wonderful relationships with every child, and the energy in the rooms is always high, regardless of the time of day. There are always plenty of activities, laughter, and happiness. Thank you to the entire team for putting all your heart into your work and making this such a special place and a fantastic journey for our little ones! Read more
