Healthy Beginnings Curriculum
Healthy Beginnings Curriculum
The Lifelong Learning Healthy Beginnings Curriculum emphasises the establishment of secure attachments and positive relationships between babies and educators using the Circle of Security and learning zones focused on play schemas that support babies physical and intellectual development. We know your baby’s earliest emotional, social and physical experiences will directly impact their future resilience and wellbeing, and we are here to support that journey. Our qualified educators are trained and accredited by Affinity Education Group in the Lifelong Learning Curriculum.
What Babies Learn: During their first year, our Lifelong Learning Curriculum supports babies in developing trusting relationships with people and builds confidence to explore and understand the physical environment. Without this secure foundation, learning in other areas cannot flourish. Our learning experiences, based on play schemas, support those first connections and exploration, allowing emotional security, self-identity and self-confidence to emerge.
How Babies Learn: Babies learn best through relationships. Relationships provide babies with a secure base to explore the world and a haven to return to when babies seek comfort and connection with our educators. Our qualified educators can ‘tune in’ to your baby’s individual preferences and personality. Educators partner closely with families to create a Circle of Security for babies to thrive.
Where Babies Learn: Our Healthy Beginnings nurseries are thoughtfully designed, with spaces for babies to safely explore, play, sleep, and enjoy their meals. Look beyond the toys, and you’ll see the careful planning of our rooms that provide specific learning zones. Our baby's Lifelong Learning Curriculum zones include Stretch and Grow, Cosy Corner, Completely Connected, and Discovery Zones.
Early Experiences Curriculum
Early Experiences Curriculum
We know your toddler is ready to socialise, make friends and to be introduced to new challenges in a safe and nurturing environment. Our qualified childcare educators are trained and accredited in the Lifelong Learning Curriculum by Affinity Education Group. The Lifelong Learning Early Experiences Curriculum emphasises the development of toddlers’ language and social development using the Abecedarian approach within our intentional learning zones focused on play schemas that support toddlers' physical and intellectual development.
What Toddlers Learn: Our toddler curriculum is focused on supporting language development and early social skills. These foundational skills allow the active toddler to explore the expanding social world around them and build self-confidence and self-identity. Our Abecedarian language program and specially designed learning games support both social and language development.
Where Toddlers Learn: Our early experiences rooms are designed with the active toddler in mind with spaces for toddlers to explore their environment with lots of opportunity for hands on learning, playing, resting and eating with friends. Look beyond the toys and you’ll see the careful planning of our rooms which provide age-appropriate learning zones.
How Toddlers Learn: Toddlers learn best through play, supported by gentle and fun interactions with their educators and other children. Toddlers learn best through relationships; our educators focus on building trusting relationships with each toddler. Our focus on a positive and warm relationship supports toddlers to fully enjoy the Early Experience program, build confidence and explore those early friendships with others.
School Readiness Curriculum
School Readiness Curriculum
Our preschool rooms have been designed to facilitate the learning required for your child to be a resilient and confident learner to prepare them for the transition to Primary School. We know that all children are capable of realising their full potential if they are in the right environment, which is why we use project-based learning, appropriate technology and enrichment programs to spark the best experiences. The Lifelong Learning School Readiness Curriculum emphasises enquiry-based projects and foundation academic skills to support children’s development.
What Children Learn: Our two-year School Readiness Program for children aged 3-5 focuses on foundation learning in numeracy and math, literacy and writing and STEM, as well as dramatic play, art, and physical activity. Our Curriculum also integrates technology in an age-appropriate way to support foundational learning and researching for our enquiry-based projects program, where children explore topics in detail over time. The School Readiness Program also includes some unique programs for children, primarily written just for our Affinity Education enrolled children, including our Big Thinkers STEM program, Aussie Wildlife Champions and in selected centres, our Grandfriends intergenerational program and Positive Living Skills mental health and wellbeing program.
Where Children Learn: Our preschool/kindergarten classrooms and learning environments have been designed to support our curriculum programs and are structured to support children to explore the many possibilities that re available to them throughout the day. With both indoor and outdoor learning taking place, children can feel refreshed and comfortable as they develop their understanding of the world around them – and of their own potential. Our preschool/kindergarten rooms include Lifelong Learning Curriculum zones to encourage children to try new things every day. Interactive Learning hub, Numeracy & Math, Construction zone, Literacy & Writing, Art Studio, Dramatic play, Book corner and STEM.
How Children Learn: Children learn best when they believe that they can. Our teachers and educators focus on supporting children to explore the curriculum confidently and make daily choices to build independence. Through a rich combination of play-based learning and intentional teaching, our programs allow children to explore their interests and ideas, develop those all-important 21st-century thinking skills, and contribute to learning and discovery within their classroom of friends.

We are incredibly happy with our decision to enrol our daughter at Kids Academy Moorabbin. Before choosing to enrol our daughter here, my husband and I toured 19 other facilities. None of which could compete/compare with Kids Academy. We found that choosing a facility is actually really hard and also a very personal decision based on what you value. We love the spacious and clean indoor and outdoor facilities at Kids Academy as well as their focus on life long learning. We are kept up to date daily with all the awesome activities (craft, sport, music etc) and moments through the Storypark app where we also have the option to directly communicate with the educators and management team if need be. We’re also incredibly happy and grateful for the care our daughter has received over the past 5 months. With the team’s support we navigated her transition into daycare and they were always ready to accommodate her needs and our concerns as new parents. Despite a few changes in staff and management since we enrolled, we found that Kids Academy always communicated effectively and there were no actual interruptions to our daughter’s care or comfort. She’s happy as can be and that’s the biggest indicator to us. And not to mention my slight jealousy over the fact that our daughter can’t get enough of Eddie’s delicious meals and snacks!!! If you’re a parent looking for somewhere that’s not over crowded, has fantastic facilities, a great learning program and a fabulous team of educators then I would encourage you to visit Kids Academy Moorabbin. Thank you Nirali and Team for a great experience so far!! Read more

We are so glad you had a positive experience during your placement, Penny! It's wonderful to hear our team provided the support and guidance you needed throughout your time with us. Thank you for recommending us as a great place for students to grow and practice their skills—we’re proud to play a part in shaping future educators!

The only positives I have to say now after 2years at being at the centre and giving them benefit of the doubt time and time again are the educators that are actually with the students day in and out. My experiences have raised several issues that I believe need immediate attention. Cost vs. Service: The fees charged do not align with the actual services provided. I feel that the facility is not delivering value for money. Management Issues: The lack of consistent management and direction within the center. Frequent changes in management and staff create confusion and instability amongst staff and families. Communication Problems: Notifications about special dress-up days are often sent at the last minute (9 or 10 AM on the day of the event), which is unhelpful for planning. Enrollment Concerns: The facility is facing low enrollment numbers, which raises concerns about its sustainability and the quality of care offered. Staffing Consistency: There is a noticeable lack of consistent staff present at the center, leading to mixed-age groupings throughout the day. This inconsistency affects the children's learning and development. Front Desk Availability: There is rarely anyone at the front desk to assist families, making it difficult to address concerns. Furthermore, it's challenging to find someone knowledgeable to speak with on the phone - if you ever get through. Lack of Information Sessions: I regularly asked and waited for six months for information regarding the 3-year-old kinder program for 2025. Each inquiry was met with vague responses about an upcoming information session that never occurred. Insufficient Communication: I requested Moorabbin-specific information multiple times after receiving a general presentation about Murrumbeena, but I received no responses. Disappointing Facility Tour: During my tour of the 3 and 4year-old kinder, I was disheartened to learn that the program was not adequately preparing children for school. The activities mirrored those in the baby and toddler rooms, lacking developmentally appropriate learning experiences. Staff Morale: There is incredibly low staff morale. Staff are often the last to learn about changes and events, and many have expressed that they are not allowed to inform families of their departure, preventing proper farewells. We are so sad to leave this great facility but unfortunately we have no choice. Read more
