HI, MY NAME IS BREE AND WORKING WITH CHILDREN HAS BEEN MY DREAM EVER SINCE I WAS A LITTLE GIRL.
It all began when I was the local babysitter in the area where I grew up, I knew I wanted to become a teacher. So after completing high school, I decided to pursue my career in Early Childhood, and began working full time in a child care centre while studying my Diploma at night. After completing my Diploma, I went on to further my studies and completed my Bachelor of Teaching, studying externally through the University of New England.
In my 20 years of teaching in the early childhood industry, I have been the room leader for all age groups, from 6 weeks to 6 years. I have worked in both long day care centres, and spent 10 years teaching in a preschool. I view my position as a teacher as an absolute privilege, I am so lucky to be able to be a part of children’s lives, helping to shape such innocent minds to become proud, secure, resilient, happy little people!!
During the years, I have had 6 months off with each of my 3 children. In 2008 I had my first son Tyson, in 2010 I had my second son Chase, and in 2013 I had my third son Corby. During my maternity leave, I nannied for 2 families who I became very close with, and still are.
After so many years of teaching in childcare centres, I was after a little change, and that’s when I began to dream of my very own Family Day Care.
My aim is to create a nurturing, caring and safe environment, which will hopefully become your child’s home away from home. I promise to devote all that I have to help your children feel loved and cherished while in my care, ready to grow and learn, reaching their potential in every way possible in all areas of development.
I am excited to be able to develop an educational, play based program daily, which will be guided by the Early Years Learning Framework. I will be consistently observing and documenting your child’s progress in every area of their development, and creating experiences to further explore interests, as well as extend on any areas to further develop skills.
Your child’s day with me with be nothing short of fun; exploring craft, messy/sensory play, fine motor games & experiences, gross motor play outdoors, dancing, singing, story/literacy time and much much more. I can’t wait to meet you, your family and your precious little one!!
