Welcome to The Cottages at Coomera Early Learning Centre.
Early childhood education and care provides the foundation for learning for life. We believe that the value of play is of utmost importance to children as it is their way of learning about their world. While children play, they are able to experiment with new ideas, test theories and their understanding of concepts, express their creative ability, release their emotions and share their feelings. While engaging in play, children are developing across all domains and creating the building blocks for their future.
You'll be amazed by our strong connections with the children and our families, our strong connections with the local community and schools, the engaging learning programs and our government funded Kindergarten program. Our beautiful outdoor spaces have climbing forts, sensory path, yarning circle, mud kitchen with water creek beds and an adventurous sensory garden that will delight and engage.
We also do many excursions including Intergenerational visits with the local retirement village which build connections that both children and residents love! Nothing matters more to us than the education, health and well-being of every child who enters our service. Which also includes an on site chef to cook nutritous and tasty meals for your little ones.

We love going to the cottage centre, the teachers and team are very professional, friendly and really cares about the well being of my children! The place is great and they have an awesome learning program, making it all fun and exciting for the kids. I highly recommend this place.

I don't normally write reviews, but wanted to make sure to give The Cottage 5 stars. Excellent communication and customer service between families and staff. Excellent support and personal knowledge by all staff about the children. Even if an educator is not a child's main teacher, they know about the child and support them. Children loved going to The Cottage and we miss everyone there! Well done to The Cottage team!
Merissa - parent
The cottage is the most family based centre I have personally ever known. Quality of care for children is consistently met, the relationships I have with staff is like an extended family. I wouldn't trust another centre, like I trust all the staff at the cottage. They are consistently amazing every day.

About the curriculum

About the curriculum
The Cottage at Coomera Early Learning Centre is large enough to accommodate three separate cottages for the three age groups of children, each with its own separate play area.
Fiafia Cottage: 6 weeks - 2 years
The educators work closely with families to provide a safe, quality, family-centred learning environment where every child is respected and nurtured. The team continually develops their skills and explores new ways to enrich each child’s early learning experience.
Indoor and outdoor play based experiences are an integral part of the program. Educators plan a diverse range of experiences to create opportunities for each child in both structured and spontaneous play.
The centre’s programs are inspired by the wisdom and teachings of early childhood theorists, the Queensland Kindergarten Learning Guidelines (QKLG) and the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF), and aim to develop children’s emotional, social and cognitive intelligence. The focus is on literacy and numeracy, socialisation, self-regulation and independence.
Health & nutrition

Health & nutrition
The Cottage at Coomera Early Learning Centre understands that promoting children’s nutrition and health is an important aspect of providing a quality child care and early education service. It is crucial that children are offered healthy, nutritious meals throughout the day and enjoy social, positive mealtime experiences and discussions as part of their overall growth, development and knowledge.
The centre’s menu is prepared by a professionally qualified centre cook in consultation with families, educators, the children and recognised authorities such as Nutrition Australia and Feed Australia. The centre can accommodate individual dietary requirements due to family preferences, cultural background, allergies or food intolerances, by working closely and in consultation with families to make sure individual children’s needs are met.
A positive attitude towards healthy eating is embedded into the curriculum and daily routines, for instance with their interactive cooking classes; menu development; discussion of food choices; explaining the role of food and culture; educators modeling healthy eating; and making meal times a pleasant, social occasion.
Meet the team

Meet the team
At The Cottage at Coomera Early Learning Centre, the educators believe that each child is on their own unique journey that shapes the person they are and who they will become. Just like chapters in a book, they understand that each child steps through their ‘story’ at their own pace and in their own time.
The team at The Cottage at Coomera Early Learning Centre believes that learning is a lifelong journey and that early childhood education and care provides the foundation for learning for life. Children make sense of the world around them through the use of processes such as exploration, collaboration and problem solving across all aspects of the curriculum. They develop dispositions such as curiosity, persistence and creativity and use play to investigate, imagine and explore ideas, follow and extend their own interests.
The educators are key to supporting children on their journey and believe that relationships with families and community are essential for supporting children to be global citizens and helping them to reach their potential.
Our goal is to continue to provide a warm, secure and encouraging learning program for the children in our centre and for The Cottage to be a place in the community where families continue and would love to bring their children.

Our daughter has attended the cottage and graduated in 2020 with amazing educators. They were very caring, compassionate, dedicated and knowledgable, under the leadership of service manager & director of Ms Ammie (the most people person director we have ever met). Our son also attended the cottage since June 2020. Sadly the cottage doesn't seem that amazing anymore after the resignation of Ms Ammie (6/11) and assistant director Ms Angi (30/10) and few other educators that has looked after our son. Current educators who are looking after our son are amazing too. They are patience, love what they are doing and dedicated. My son first time caught HFMD (our daughter never had that, so do us). I rang and spoken to the manager to confirm that if she has received our email and GP has confirmed our son had it and reinforced to her that it is important to let other parents aware about it. However, after two days only parents were made awared with two confirmed cases. With that phone call, there were no emphathy at all from the manager as i recalled she was just replied 'yes, sure'. Why have to wait untill you have two confirmed cases? I personally don't think that is safe and good enough as other parents should have been made aware as soon as you received our GP confirmation. Perhaps every childcare has their own practice and policies? However since covid, the cottage has been absolutely capable in informing us when our son got fever, chesty cough, had a wound looks like insect bites etc. Almost every fortnight we got a call in Jan to March 2021 so we could bring him home under our care, of course the cottage did this just to protect other children and staff, which i assumed that they would have done the same thing for other children, however how could possibly both parents get back to work without any concerns/worries if you think you would always get a call from the kindy?? As we have no one else can help look after our kids when they are sick except ourselves. For that, I wish the management always being thoughful to their own staff too if their own children got sick and they can't come to work. Our son (less than 1 year old) also being exposed to rain water with purpose (creative play) during rainy and windy day with all his clothes soaked twice this year. No doubt he must have loved it, but how can i not put the blame on you guys that he got sick straight after these 'creative plays'? Both my husband and myself think that our son may continue to attend the cottage because we felt the educators love our son and most of them love being educators, which is very important to us. Just as i would feel at ease knowing that he will be under the care of few capable educators whom have nutured and taught my daughter before (if they are still there by the time he grown up more). Lately, it has been a mess with the issue of the child care fees benefit which my husband has been dealing with it. No inform or whatsoever when changes being made, only found out by my husband after a dramatic rise in the child care fees. I really wish things can go back to how it used to be, or at least the management team can seek improvement seriously. Read more
