Mawson Lakes Community Early Learning is Reggio Emilia inspired. They believe in the rights of the child and that each child is important, competent, and a capable citizen. At the centre children can feel that they belong and can develop and learn at their best.
They offer the opportunities to learning within nature, through play giving children the opportunity to investigate hypothesis, and take risks.
They believe the connections between educators and children are fundamental as educators and children learn together, offering support, guidance, and a safe base to return to when needed.
Their routines, environments, learning experiences and documentation are all developed to foster and reflect their believes and are guided by the National Quality Standards and the Early Years Learning Framework.
Their Parent’s Voice
The centre is a not for profit, community based early learning centre. They are over seen by parents, volunteering their time to make up their management committee. As a community-based centre, they acknowledge the importance of and embrace the diverse community.

In January 2012 the National Quality Framework (NQF) came into effect across Australia.
The purpose of the NQF is to improve and standardise the quality of child care through a
range of measures including better staff to child ratios, higher staff qualifications
and an assessment and rating system designed to promote continuous improvement.
Under the NQF child care services are assessed and rated against the National Quality Standards (NQS).
The NQS measures the quality of early childhood education and care in Australia. It will cover
most long day care, family day care, preschool/kindergarten and outside school hours care services.
Under these standards child care services will be assessed and rated against the
seven quality areas, 18 standards and 58 elements that make up the NQS.
