Sparrow Early Learning Warwick
Sparrow Early Learning Warwick Centre overview
Welcome to Sparrow Early Learning Warwick! We provide early education and care for children aged 6 weeks to 5 years in a nurturing, home-like environment. Inspired by Reggio Emilia philosophy and guided by the Early Years Learning Framework, our educators provide a holistic, play-based curriculum with a strong emphasis on nature and outdoor learning experiences.
We celebrate each child as unique and our dedicated educators focus programming on meeting the individual needs and interests of each child. Family involvement and participation is highly encouraged and fostered at our service. We value families as our co-educators and encourage them to participate in all aspects of our service and their children's learning.
Indoor learning spaces feel just like home and are filled with materials and resources that come straight from nature and everyday life. Activities are largely open-ended to allow children to follow their interests, use their imagination and stimulate social interactions with their peers and educators.
Engaging outdoor spaces provide further opportunities for imaginative and collaborative play with children enjoying the unstructured spaces, quiet shady areas, climbing structures and sandpits, under the protection of large shade sails.
We look forward to showing you all our service has to offer! Please arrange a tour to visit.

Meet Allana - Service Manager at Sparrow Eearly Learning Warwick
"My name is Allana and I am the service manager of Sparrow Early Learning Warwick. Working with children is a lifelong passion of mine and I believe that with nurture, care and passion children will have the opportunity to grow into the leaders of the future.
Having a Reggio inspire approaches allows us to see children as leaders, promoting resilience and cooperation through all our daily interactions. Children having autonomy in their day allows us to have a community of thinkers and develop program plans that reflect who our children are into the environment.
I have over 13 years’ experience working with children, families and communities and this passion for my sector is something I strive to inspire within my team every day, to build reciprocal and meaningful relationships with everyone within our Sparrow community brings joy and smiles to each of us every day.
I am thrilled to be on this journey with my Sparrow family and have the opportunity to mentor and lead my team into our future together."
About the curriculum
About the curriculum
“The Sparrow Way combines proven international early learning methods to create a unique and purposefully contemporary practice designed for today’s society. Guided by the principles of Reggio Emilia childcare and underpinned by The Early Years Framework for Australia, we embrace children’s inherent abilities to learn and develop, creating an environment for them to find solutions through exploration, discovery and invention, marveling in everything around them. The Sparrow Way is our method of working with children based on these beliefs and principles.”
- The Sparrow Early Education Team
The Sparrow curriculum is thoughtfully planned by our educators and shaped by the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF). Being guided by the EYLF and National Quality Standards (NQS) ensures we offer high quality learning programs that are responsive to children’s ideas, interests, strengths and abilities.
Programs are play-based, child-driven and inspired by the Reggio Emilia approach with a strong emphasis on nature and outdoor learning experiences. Educators carefully design environments that stimulate curiosity and provide opportunities for hands-on learning experiences that are reflective of real life.
Play is viewed as a powerful tool for children to explore, discover and make meaning of the world around them. Activities are largely open-ended, providing a wide variety of natural resources and materials which stimulate imagination and foster creativity, problem-solving and meaningful interactions with friends and educators.
Children are encouraged to express themselves through various mediums, such as art, music and dramatic play, allowing them to develop a deep sense of autonomy, confidence and joy in their learning journey.
Parent communication and involvement
Parent communication and involvement
The Sparrow team values the role of families as children’s most important teachers and our educators foster positive and collaborative relationships with families. Parents are encouraged to contribute their ideas for programming, learning activities and the overall operation of the service.
Our inclusive open-door policy welcomes parents to visit our service, engage in discussions with educators and participate in children's learning. Our educators maintain open and continuous communication with families, ensuring a strong connection between the children's home learning environment and their educational experiences at the centre. During pick-up and drop-off times, educators are readily available to engage with families and gladly share insights into the children's progress, well-being and participation.
The use of the Storypark communication app provides daily updates, photos, and videos, fostering regular connections between educators and families. Parents also receive frequent communication through emails, newsletters, displays, notices, information evenings, special events, and Facebook.

- Transition to School program including school visits & transition reports
Sparrow Early Learning centres provide high quality kindy programs led by qualified Early Childhood Teachers. While the curriculum remains play-based, these programs follow a more structured approach to teaching and learning experiences to prepare children for transitioning into a primary school environment. There is a careful balance maintained between child-led and teacher-led learning activities.
Our Early Childhood Teachers cater to the individual needs of each child and in collaboration with parents, ensure that children are adequately equipped with the skills and experience required for a smooth transition to “big school”. Ongoing assessment of children’s progress and development is carefully documented and communicated with families and transition statements can be shared with future schools to facilitate a smooth transition to school.
Attending Kindy at their familiar Sparrow Early Learning centre makes the transition from the long day care setting less intimidating and children can continue their early learning journey in a safe and familiar environment, surrounded by friends and familiar educators. It also means families can enjoy the flexibility of extended care hours and continued care during school holiday periods. All meals and snacks are provided, adding to the convenience for busy families.

The educators are caring towards each and every child, adapting to their changing needs daily! My little one (only 8 months old) can be clingy one day, to the next being perfectly content with some toys. The carers take it in their stride, giving him extra love when he needs it while supporting his learning needs. Every morning when I arrive, my little one squeals with excitement and often turns or reaches towards the educator when it's time for me to hand him over in the morning. They look after him so well, and watching him smiling and happy in the educators arms really is the best feedback. I was so nervous starting him at daycare so young (7 months), but within a week, the smiles from baby and the care from educators put me right at ease and I know I have nothing to worry about during the day. I know he'll have a great time and encouraged to explore new toys, sensory play and enjoy delicious meals! Thank you to everyone at Sparrow Warwick for making this such a smooth process and keeping my little one well looked after and happy! Read more
