About the curriculum
About the curriculum
6 months - 18 months
For many babies, the first 18 months of their lives are not only filled with exciting moments of achieving new milestones, but also filled with wonder about their world as they discover the people and places around them through their senses. Gloryland Mitcham's goal is to ensure your child feels a deep sense of belonging while in the centre's care, in an environment that makes children feel safe, and where their needs are met, before they begin to thrive in the areas of communication and learning.
18 months - 3 years
Now that your child has built good rapport with the educators and they are confident in their learning environment, Gloryland Mitcham aims to begin building their learning of early literacy and numeracy skills, alongside helping them to navigate new and challenging social situations. From developing the ability to follow one-step instructions, to articulating their preferences and interests, the centre aims to provide your child with the frameworks that will set them up to thrive in their early learning.
3 years - 4 years
By now, your child will have developed their independence, and have begun forming friendship groups. At this stage, more than just developing language, children need to develop problem solving skills as well as learn appropriate social rules. Educators are on hand to help children bridge the gap and expand their world of imagination through exciting challenges that encourage them to give new things a go.
4 years - 5 years
At this point, your child will be starting to get ready for school. They will need plenty of practice in being responsible for their own belongings, raising their hands to ask questions and standing up for themselves. Children will learn these habits as they are guided through the centre’s School Readiness Program, which will equip them with early reading and writing, group huddle, public speaking, basic STEM, creative arts and imagination skills.

Health & nutrition
Health & nutrition
At Gloryland Mitcham, the children are involved in the process of food preparation, and are exposed to whole food education, which helps to develop a greater appreciation for what they eat. All meals and snacks are prepared in-house, with a menu created in partnership with Mandy Sacher from the Wholesome Child, Nourish Program.
The seasonal menu offers a range of fresh fruit and vegetables accompanied with recipes that are aimed at expanding children’s palate and interest in a diverse range of food. The centre encourages the children to engage with a range of cooking experiences that also teach children about different cultures.
Children learn self-help skills by serving their own drinks and putting their cups/bowls away on the trolley when they have finished their food. Everyone sings a Grace song before mealtimes, and educators will interact with the children during mealtimes, creating a friendly, sociable atmosphere while discussing the importance of healthy eating and table manners. Educators will role model good eating habits and encourage children to try food that they may be unfamiliar with.

She was amazing for the entire tour as it wasn’t like a 5-10min walk around tour as most of the other CC does. Arlene literally spent time trying to understand what are the needs of my child and provided solutions to cater our needs (even before us committed to any waitlist or enrolment). The Centre itself is brilliant as well. Would definitely recommend Gloryland to our families and friends. Read more

I am incredibly honored to share my experience as an educator at Gloryland Early Learning Centre, where my career has flourished under the nurturing guidance of a passionate and compassionate team. The visionary leadership of the owner and management has not only prioritized the well-being of families and children but has also demonstrated an unwavering commitment to the growth and fulfillment of their educators. From day one, it was evident that Gloryland is more than just a learning center; it is a community that values each member's unique contributions. The owner, a true leader in every sense, is a down-to-earth person who leads by example. Their commitment to excellence is reflected in the center's culture, fostering an environment where creativity, collaboration, and continuous learning are not just encouraged but celebrated. One aspect that stands out is the genuine care for the well-being of families and children. The owner and management go above and beyond to create a warm and inclusive atmosphere where children feel safe, cherished, and excited to learn. This commitment is not just lip service but is evident in the meticulous attention given to every detail of the learning environment. For instance, the thoughtfully designed classrooms and play areas are not just spaces but vibrant, interactive settings that stimulate curiosity and imagination. Equally impressive is the owner's dedication to the professional development of educators. I have had the privilege of participating in workshops and training sessions that were not only enriching but tailored to address the evolving needs of early childhood education. This investment in professional growth empowers educators like me to provide the best possible learning experiences for our students.
