Kingbird Early Childhood Development Centre is privately owned and operated. It has been designed to cater for the needs of children and their families with long day care facilities.
We want to ensure that children's development will be encouraged, enhanced and supported in an environment, which will cater to the individual needs of 66 children between 6 weeks and 5 years old.
Centre Aim
The aim of the Centre is to provide a secure, nurturing and stimulating environment where children feel safe to grow and learn. Children are encouraged and challenged to explore the world in which they live, through open-ended play that develops their physical, social, emotional, intellectual and creative skills. Our environment is designed to complement each family and nurture each child through their early childhood years.
We aim to meet the needs of both children and their families. The environment allows for children to learn at their own individual pace. The Staff observe and record developmental progress and ensure that children are reaching developmental milestones. Children are encouraged to be active participants in all areas of the program. Staffs serve as positive role models and interact with children to enhance the development of all interpersonal relationships.
The Program
The Centre staff provides programs that are developmentally and age appropriate. Our programs are child-based and directed, therefore allowing children to choose the direction of their play and be creative explorers of their own learning. Our Early Childhood Educators provide open-ended mediums, challenging activities and an environment that allows children to be thinkers, problem solvers and controllers of their own play Programs are designed to incorporate children from all cultural backgrounds, additional needs and we advocate an anti-bias curriculum.
The Staff
All staff at Kingbird hold a tertiary qualification, or are studying towards achieving this. Our lead educators hold at least a Diploma of higher qualification, and all staff have their First Aid, CPR, Asthma and Anaphylaxis Management certification . Each room has a team of two staff who are the primary educators for that group of children.
