STATEMENT OF PHILOSOPHY
Our aim at this centre is to provide the possibility of a warm, fun and caring atmosphere where children can belong and be secure. The service takes an active role in caring for its environment. The service is a role model in its community in caring for the environment and contributing to a sustainable future (Being Green).
The possibility of developing a sense of trust and partnership between parents, children and the educators that may evolve through being able to communicate various needs and knowing that these needs will be respected. All children and educators are given equal opportunities regardless of their gender, cultural diversity and socio economic background. It is important to develop a consistency between child care practices at home and those at our centre to enhance the children's general feeling of security within themselves and to develop strong relationships with the adults in our centre.
We follow the Early Years Learning Framework to support and enhance young children's learning. 'Belonging, Being and Becoming' is a key document for our educators to help develop quality in our early childhood setting. We follow the principles, practice and learning outcomes that are essential to support and enhance children's learning from 2 to 6 years of age, and also help support transition to school. Every educator at our centre follows this philosophy in their teaching so that the children benefit due to the richness of this philosophy. The possibility of growth and development of each child is monitored closely in our centre. We aim to provide all children with the possibility of becoming an effective learner through creating an environment that is challenging and stimulating.
Educators discover the dynamic space where children and adults share responsibility for learning (Intentional Teaching), rather than following either a child-initiated, or an adult-directed approach. We reflect about principles and practices as well as broadening thinking about appropriate early curriculum content and related teaching strategies.
Generally, our aim is to assist your children to develop all the skills necessary for now and in later years. Children learn from the possibility of play, creative experiences such as painting, collage, music, stories and language combined with free-play both indoors and outdoors, which encourages the social, physical and thinking skills.
