We cater to children aged six weeks to five years in a spacious, double-storey building with three large outdoor play areas that promote natural play, sustainability, and motor skill development.
We offer two years of kindergarten, ensuring your child has the time and support needed to develop, play, and form friendships, preparing them for school.
Our long-standing educators, some with over a decade of experience, create a welcoming environment, with many bi- or multi-lingual staff fostering a sense of belonging for diverse families. Children enjoy progressive mealtimes, allowing them to choose when they are ready to eat. Our exciting extracurricular activities include music programs, fitness, and a variety of educational incursions such as animal visits, puppet shows, and dental health programs.

Curriculum and programs
Curriculum and programs
The educators at Goodstart Early Learning follow an evidence-based curriculum that aligns with the Early Years Learning Framework. Informed by world-leading research, practices and techniques, the curriculum encourages the children’s natural curiosity and engages them in their learning journey.
As the children move through the different rooms in the centre, the curriculum evolves with them. The educators set goals for the children and celebrate as they reach their milestones. At every stage, the educators are tailoring the curriculum and goals to each child’s individual needs.
The curriculum involves different types of learning experiences and styles. From child-led learning to sessions guided by educators, the children participate in small and large group sessions as well as individual play. Most importantly, the children learn through play, developing social skills, confidence and independence in addition to more formal academic skills.
Play is the order of the day of Goodstart Early Learning and the programs at the centre are grounded in a play-based approach. The educators embed teaching and learning into play experiences, helping the children to make sense of the world around them. This is how the children learn about how things work and develop important foundational relationships and skills.
The primarily child-directed, play-based curriculum ensures that the children are engaged in their learning. They are encouraged to take the lead, developing their negotiation, risk taking, problem solving and social skills. The educators observe the children and help to challenge them by extending their learning and interests.
The educators recognise that every child is unique and that they bring their own needs, interests and strengths with them each day. The program is designed to be flexible to cater to these differing needs, ensuring every child has the opportunity to thrive at Goodstart.
Parent communication and involvement
Parent communication and involvement
Goodstart Early Learning uses the StoryPark app to connect with parents throughout the day. The educators upload photos and stories to the secure app, which parents can access anytime and anywhere to track their child’s progress.
The approach at the centre is very much based around partnership between families and educators. The educators work with the parents and carers to build strong relationships. They develop trust so the children can feel safe and secure while at the centre. Parents are also encouraged to share their insights and feedback with educators to add depth to the relationship.
The educators observe the children every day and tailor the program around their observations. They share these with parents, so they can feel connected to their child’s progress and also provide feedback that will further enhance their child’s learning experience.

They are encouraged to upskill, learning about the latest research and thinking in the sector. They can then bring this knowledge back to the centre to share with their colleagues for the benefit of the children.
Kelly Domeney
Hi, my name is Kelly, and I am the Centre Director at Goodstart Hoppers Crossing Heaths Road.
I hold my Advanced Diploma of Children’s Services and have been working in the childcare field since 1994. I have worked in various roles at a variety of centres during this time where I have been in the Centre Director role since 2010.
I am extremely proud of the work that I do and feel privileged to be a part of child’s learning journey. I believe working with children is one of the most rewarding jobs to be a part of, the children, families and educators motivate me daily to be a better person and leader every day.
I welcome feedback and are always looking for ways to ensure we as a centre are providing the best possible care for your children.
I look forward to meeting you and building trusting relationships with you and your children.

He was going through development delay and possible on the spectrum. His pre kinda class was not quite equipped for kids with extra needs. My personal experience was not the best overall but there are some positive feedback too. The negatives: My son came home with unexplained bumps, cuts and bruises. Educators never knew why but some days it was implied that it was his own doing because he's full of energy. I definitely filled out more incident reports there then previous centre. My son wasn't eating the food provided and I was bringing in his lunch box. For awhile someone was taking out half of his lunch items and leaving it the kitchen. When I raised the question why, they couldn't explain. I even asked if there's an issue with the items and they said no. One educator then said another person did it but was trying to teach him something to do with the foods. But she was just guessing cause she didn't know 🤷♀️ it stopped after I raised it with a different educator. My son was toilet trained at home (no issues) but he was having accidents at school to the point where they put him back in nappies. (I was struggling to understand why and was asking for help to understand why he wasn't going. Therapist even helped by reaching out to them to help us understand. Being back in nappies, led to a really bad nappy rash from not changing him all day. Educator said its because he refuses to change his nappy. I had to escalate to the director. An educator told me he should be in a special needs school. (My son is not high on the spectrum to the point where he needs special school, otherwise his paediatrician, therapist would have suggested it or their director when we had the tour). No proper consistency when it came to strategies to help my son with anything from regulating emotions to understanding situations because his understanding is clearly different from most kids. I had to ask for reports to pass on to his therapists to give them some understanding of what was going on. (Only one report was given to me to hand over to therapist) I was told they were working on other reports. Never received it. I only got more info when i initiated alot of conversations to try and understand situations that were happening at school only and never at home. I've actually walked in on an educator yelling at him for jumping on the chair with other kids. But just him yelled at, she didn't realise I had walked in. The worst was my son coming home with deep nail marks in his arms that he actually named the educator who did it and i reported it to the director. This was reported to the police and dept of education and after a few months of investigating. It was closed due to not enough evidence. The investigation was interviewing witnesses (other educators so of course it was his word against theirs) I moved my son to a new centre before the results. There's also no camera's in the classrooms so we would never know what happened. My son wouldn't do it to himself. The positives: Kerri was always on to it when I brought things to her attention. She got things sorted straight away. The admin team were great. Teegan was awesome too! Sad to see her go. My son made a few friends there, he couldn't socialise before and had not made friends at previous centre. He has engaged in more group activities then he has in his previous centre, esp happy feet & sports days. So there was some progress with him in some areas from goodstart. Shout out to a couple of educators who really did show empathy and support. Mirtha, Priya & Hima. Hima was extremely helpful and discussed situations in depth to help me understand too and she actually listened when I was raising concerns. Their fees were reasonable. My son has been in his new centre for about 3months now. In these months the difference and improvement has been amazing. I'm not saying I don't recommend goodstart to anyone, I'm just saying with my own personal experience I wouldn't recommend goodstart for kids with extra needs. Read more
