Hoskins Education & Care Centre overview

Welcome to Hoskins Education & Care Centre

We provide an educational program based on children's interest. All our staff have Cert III or Diplomas. Some of our staff are also studying to be an Early Childhood Teacher
Portfolios and creative art books are collated for each child at our centre - these include learning stories, observations and checklists. Also there is a development summary on your child's development in July and December of the year your child attends.
We also have a school readiness program for the children who go to school the following year.
We also provide hot meals daily as well as morning tea, afternoon tea and late afternoon tea. Parents are only asked to bring a piece of fruit each day.
We have also participated in a Kidzspeak program which involves every aspect of language development.

Firstly thank you so much for your attendance today. Lovely to have met you. In relation to your review it has been reported due to the defamatory statements, the personal conflict of interest you obviously have, which won’t be mentioned here. The centre is an older centre, the hygiene standards are of the highest of quality. Our apologies that not all was brand new but we have been serving our community for 30 years and are a community not for profit registered charity, so although our centre may not be aesthetically pleasing for some, such as yourself, it is at the highest hygiene level. As for the security, you have to get through three different gates which are closely monitored by our qualified staff. There was adequate staffing, 2 staff members for 7 children above the age of two, none of which were floaters. They are very vigilant and walk the perimeter at all times. Not to mention the fact that the continuous engagement and interactions with children keep the children in eyesight at all times. The upstairs are was empty because the children were outside and everything had to be packed away for the nutritious meal they were about to be served. So we do pack away and clear the room removing all obstacles in order for the children, upon returning back to the area for lunch have no obstructions, and are able to freely walk around and eat in a clear environment. My apologies for the plants you saw on the window frame as this would be the only possible “unhygienic “ element of the room but the children planted these themselves and are proud of their plants. Where was the 1:7 ratio? There were two staff for 7 children in the outside area, three staff were upstairs with three babies. So not really sure where you got your ratio check from? And I gave you an exact straight answer. 1:4 for babies 1:5 for 2-3 Up to 7 for 3-4’s And I didn’t even mention the school readiness room ratio. And in relation to my name, yes my name is Claudia, in relation to my last name I actually did give it to you but mentioned the fact that I don’t really give it out as I am the only one in Australia with it. So there’s no need to lie on this post insinuating that i didn’t give it to you, I did, you just didn’t write it down as you chose not to. That was your decision. Would greatly appreciate an email in relation to this so called “language” you’re referring to as I have no idea what you mean by this. Our centre deserves its stars and more because we go above and beyond for all our families. Our dedicated staff not only turn up for work but are present and each and every family that attends would attest to this. We have just gone through accreditation, which is a process in which determines the quality of care from staff, the overall state of the service, the hygiene and safety of the centre and we have met in all areas. If you would like to discuss anything further please feel free to contact myself , Claudia, which you actually wrote down and we can discuss things further. Regards Claudia
