Uniting Early Learning Kogarah Centre overview
Supporting families for more than 10 years
Since 2009, Uniting Early Learning Kogarah has been welcoming children from birth to 5 years. On Bidjigal land and in the heart of Kogarah, our long day care centre offers engaging and inclusive early education and preschool programs.
Developing a love of exploration
Our educators often stay with us for many years, keeping a strong connection with the diverse cultures of their local community. With our regular excursions and rewarding social interactions, your child has the opportunity to explore and engage with the world around them.
Nurturing every stage of development
With our care-based approach to toddlers and babies, our educators meaningfully contribute to your child’s learning experiences by incorporating programs like Aboriginal education and encouraging their communication, physical development, and social and emotional skills. Through open-ended play and structured activities, we foster the curiosity of preschoolers, building their sense of independence.
Natural and stimulating learning spaces
We know how important these early years are, which is why we encourage your child to explore their creativity and self-expression in our stimulating indoor and natural outdoor play spaces. This could take them from building sandcastles in our sandpit to planting seeds in our vegie patch or caring for our worm farm.
Our early learning centre will provide your child with the tools to make the transition to ‘big school’ easy on them and you.
Take a tour to meet and see us in action - we’re looking forward to welcoming you soon.

What the parents say

What the parents say
Our son has attended Uniting Early Learning Kogarah since he was a one year old. We have found that our son has flourished in his academic and social skills, particularly within the last year, where he has been working closely with educators in the preschool program. Now that our son is moving off to kindergarten, we have no doubt that his time at Uniting has prepared him for the smoothest transition into formal education.

We chose this centre because we love the values they integrate into their everyday learning, such as diversity and inclusion. I am very happy to see my daughter learning about different cultures and celebrations. She also loves the food there, which is healthy and diverse, and I can see she is very comfortable with her educators. Finally, we receive daily communication about her activities, and the director effectively communicates with the parents on important information.
- Charline
At the start of COVID we found ourselves without an au pair and in a tricky situation with both parents working and a sudden need to find immediate day care for our son. We searched high and low and the only centre that seemed to truly care was Uniting Early Learning Kogarah. They take a genuine interest in our son's wellbeing, as well as our own, and this shines through in the daily care they provide.

About the curriculum

About the curriculum
The curriculum is tailored to the age of the children. For infants and toddlers, the educators nurture their cognitive and physical development as well as communication, emotional and social skills. They use play, singing, touch and reading to lay the foundations of learning.
The preschool curriculum builds on this with both structured and open-ended play activities. The educators work with each child to understand their interests, abilities, ideas and personality, and then tailor activities and experiences to engage them in meaningful learning. The children also learn early concepts of literacy, numeracy, problem-solving and language to set them up for success in primary school and beyond.

Meet the team
I strive to build strong relationships with the families and children at Uniting Early Learning Kogarah. This is very important in facilitating an easier transition for the child in settling in and adapting into the learning environment that the educators and myself provide.
I love the diversity of culture that my centre has. I appreciate the strong partnerships that we have with the community and the relationships that the educators have with the families and children. This results in the best quality of education and a positive environment for all.

Everything is perfect educator (Sweta,, Maria, puja)are very nice . Director Carmela is amazing. Only thing missing is they don’t update photo and daily routine details of kids every day like (eating, sleeping, poo, photos and others)I think that is because of shortage of staff or something else because my kids goes only two days but sometimes I found one day’s photos and other updates is missing . Rest is all good . Thank you 🙏🙏 Read more
