I worked at Patch Coorparoo for several years, and my experience was far from what I expected. I was given an overwhelming amount of responsibility, including washing all the dishes for 100 children daily, changing nappies in multiple rooms, making beds, packing away sheets, and ensuring that the rooms were cleaned and set up for the day. Additionally, I was tasked with leading activities for the children. Despite handling all these duties, I was often left with little to no support. Unfortunately, this led to a serious strain on my health, with lasting effects on my left arm that have persisted for years. I attempted to access workcover for support, but my requests were not addressed, which only added to my frustration. I feel that the management, including the director and owner, could have done more to support their staff and create a safer, more balanced work environment. I’m disappointed that my hard work went unrecognized, and I hope that future employees are treated with the respect and care they deserve. Read more
