KU Concord Children's Centre overview
Welcome to KU Concord Children’s Centre!
At KU Concord, we are committed to ensuring that all children at our centre are provided with the best learning and educational opportunities possible, within a warm and welcoming environment.
The staff and families from our centre come from a wide variety of social and cultural backgrounds, which we acknowledge and celebrate daily. We highly value input from all families and encourage families to participate in the development of our program by sharing their knowledge and ideas.
At KU Concord, we are proud of our reputation within the local community of providing rich education and care that concentrates on individual children in a family-focussed and supportive way.
Our centre is a welcoming and nurturing space where each child is immersed in a rich tapestry of educationally interactive experiences – a space where children are supported to be their own, unique selves, growing and developing a sense of belonging and empowerment.
Our program offers children the opportunity to engage in a wide variety of learning experiences and activities, each specifically designed to promote children’s confidence as capable, active participants in their own learning. Children are presented with a range of activities including gardening, arts and crafts, music and movement, physical play, block building, sand and water play, science experiments, early numeracy activities such as counting and measurement, and early literacy activities such as reading, drawing and writing.
We greatly value the strong relationships between our staff, children and families, and we look forward to the opportunity of including your family in the life of our centre.
In addition to the high-quality well-rounded programs we offer, all KU centres are also encouraged to develop an area of focus.
At KU Concord, we focus on multiculturalism. We have a multicultural team and cater for a wide variety of cultures in the community.
We incorporate this into our program through activities such as celebrating cultural events with families and staff and interaction in children’s first languages.
We feel that the children benefit from this focus, because it helps them understand and interact with each other and teaches them tolerance and kindness. It also helps children develop an understanding of their local and wider community and an appreciation for other cultures.

Childhood
We recognise childhood as a special time in itself; a time for all children to be immersed in secure and trusting environments that allow them to explore, play, discover and learn. We nurture the development of identity, confidence and capability which form the foundations of a lifelong love of learning. We ensure the voices of children contribute to the work that we do and the decisions we make.
Integrity & Relationships
We act with honesty, openness and consistency. Our relationships are respectful, mutual and reciprocal and are built on trust, authenticity and ethical behaviour. We welcome feedback and make decisions that are responsible and fair.
Leadership
We are driven by the passionate pursuit of quality early childhood education and encourage others to share that journey. We lead by example, drawing on our experience and knowledge to shape early childhood education thinking, policy and practice.
Innovation
We have the courage to pursue bold visions of the future. We are committed to continual professional learning and organisational development. We collaborate and explore new ideas and different ways of thinking.
Sustainability
We acknowledge and consider both our heritage and our future. We embrace our responsibilities within the world around us – to our children and communities, our people, our environments and the long term sustainability of our organisation.
Diversity & Inclusion
We recognise that everyone has their own culture, beliefs, values and strengths contributing to our rich and diverse community. We embrace, advocate for, and invest in the rights of all children to access and actively participate in our programs and have a sense of truly belonging.
Programs
Programs
The KU program provides the children with a range of different activities and experiences to support their learning. From gardening to arts and crafts, music, movement and literacy, numeracy and scientific concepts, the program helps to build the children’s confidence as capable and active learners.
The community at KU Concord Children’s Centre is diverse with many multicultural educators and families. The program incorporates cultural celebrations to teach the children about tolerance and kindness while also developing a strong appreciation for their own and other cultures.
About the curriculum
About the curriculum
The KU curriculum includes a mix of large and small group experiences that help to build the children’s leadership and communication skills. Through interactive and hands-on activities, the children develop a sense of their unique selves and a feeling of belonging.
The curriculum aligns with the Early Years Learning Framework and the preschool program helps to prepare the children for the transition to school. The educators invite participation, research, inquiry and exploration from the children so they can drive their own learning and develop important critical thinking skills.

My son has been going to KU Concord child care since last April. The teachers are amazing, informative and loving. Their communication is fabulous and are transparent about everything .They are always there to help with any questions you may have. My son is super excited to go to "school" because he wants to see his teachers and friends. I am pleased with their log in procedures and security. They really work hard to keep kids occupied. Connie is really enjoying her time at KU Concord. she started going there when she was only nine months old. In the beginning she would cry and suke when we drop her off as all babies do. A week later she would only grimace and 2 week later, she’s actually very happy when we drop her off in the morning! Thats a great sign that she really enjoys her time there and are been well looked after by the educators. All my interactions from Kieran the principal to all the staff have been nothing short of very pleasant. I recommend KU Concord to all my friends and their kids would be attending already if not for the long waitlist! keep up the great work team! Read more

As a new Dad, I was obviously a little hesitant on sending my baby girl to daycare. My daughter was just 4 months old when we enrolled her so we wanted to be confident with her carers. My wife and I looked around and had walk throughs at several in our area and KU stood out to us for many reasons. Firstly there was an immediate sense of calm when we walked through the different age rooms. All the kids were playing and interacting with each other happily but not over the top. I met with the educators from the room my little girl would be in and they were sweet, gentle and we observed for over an hour and knew this was the place for our girl. Their onsite chef, loves to create fun healthy food for the kids and is passionate about her work. There is ample parking so we don't need to rush when dropping off or picking up and everyone in the team loves to help the kids learn, and explore on a daily basis. I highly recommend KU concord and feel so comfortable and confident with my precious girl growing and learning there. Read more
