Welcome to The Learning Sanctuary Norwood. Our Norwood childcare and kindergarten centre is ideally located for families in Norwood, Adelaide, Kent Town, Hackney, Stepney, Maylands, Rose Park, Toorak Gardens, Kensington, College Park and Beulah Park. The Learning Sanctuary Norwood offers long day care and kindergarten for children aged 2-6 years, with extended hours to suit busy families. We are proud to be rated as Exceeding the National Quality Standards.

Our purpose-built childcare and kindergarten centre in Norwood offers innovative early learning programs in a safe and nurturing environment. Our outdoor spaces offer ample room for running around and include climbing frames, a water play area, sandpits, and a vegetable garden. We also have a variety of garden beds with native plants for children to explore. Children use the herbs, fruits, and vegetables they grow in the garden for cooking activities and to feed our centre pets, which include chickens, rabbits, birds, and fish. Our classrooms are designed to feel warm and welcoming, encouraging learning through play. Our educators carefully set up environments based on each child’s interests to foster engagement and exploration. Our longstanding team of early childhood educators include two Bachelor-qualified Early Childhood Teachers, ensuring a robust preschool program. We regularly visit the local library and op-shop, and we offer the Hey Dee Ho Music Program and Ready Steady Go Kids Sports Program each month, enriching the children’s learning experiences.

We offer a great variety of learning experiences at The Learning Sanctuary Norwood including:

- Sustainability Program: Helps children develop and understand the importance of embedding sustainable practices into everyday life. Children learn about recycling, conserving water, growing food and the importance of protecting our planet.

- Community Engagement Program: Encourages children to interact with and discover their local community. We often have visits from community services, and we go out on adventures to teach the children about their local environment.

- Real Life Experiences: Children participate in fun and exciting experiences such as harvesting the veggie garden, caring for our farm animals and early cooking skills.

^Terms & Conditions: The 20% discount will be applied against the centre’s gross daily fee (at the time of the booking occurring) and applies on all eligible permanent bookings each week (excluding casual bookings) for a period of four weeks (first four weeks after start date). A current and signed Complying Written Agreement (CWA) (or other relevant government enrolment) is required in order for the discount to be applied and G8 Education reserves the right to remove any discounts in place where a current and signed CWA or government enrolment is not in place. The 20% discount may not be applied in conjunction with any other discount and will not be applied where accounts are not paid up to date and one week in advance as required by G8 Education’s Centre Fee Policy. New families only are eligible for this promotion. G8 Education reserves the right to remove or change any applicable discount at any time upon notice.

About the Curriculum

Toddler Space: 2 - 3 years

Our teachers and educators encourage the children to learn through play to help enhance their sensory-motor development. This happens through carefully planned music, dance, games and reading experiences.

On any given day the Toddler children can be seen developing their numeracy by building a tower, sorting objects, pointing and identifying shapes and patterns and participating in counting songs and games.

Children in our toddler space are encouraged to participate in group play. Group play is important as it helps our toddlers develop important social skills such as, turn taking, developing self confidence and emotional self regulation. Our team helps children through talking, planning and role modelling.

Preschool Space: 3 – 6 years

Preschool is a unique time for learning with peers and developing skills for later learning including confidence and curiosity, important skills for starting school. Our play-based program encourages active engagement in learning and supports a range of positive developmental outcomes including resilience, independence, critical thinking and creativity.

The oral language supports literacy learning. A child’s oral language ability is the best predictor for later success in learning to read and write. Hearing the sounds within a language is the first critical step for all literacy learning. Our team supports our Preschool children's development by engaging in rich discussions, introducing new vocabulary as part of everyday conversations, as well as singing, playing games, and reading with the children daily.

Throughout the Preschool year,children use their language to share ideas, ask questions, express themselves, and connect with peers and adults in social settings.

Social-emotional skills, including the ability to self-regulate emotions, is supported through group learning environments. Our team supports each child’s social and emotional development by labelling and talking about emotions and supporting appropriate responses as together, they engage in new and challenging situations. Lastly, ensuring that all children are ready for the ‘big school’ by preparing them for all that ‘big school’ has to offer.
