At Imagine Childcare and Kindergarten Werribee, Educators provide all children with an enriched, flexible, and child-initiated play-based educational program. They believe that every child has a different learning style, and they treat each child as an individual and see them as active participants in creating their own learning environment within a safe indoor/outdoor program. 

The centre believes in risky play and trusts the children in exploring their limits. Risky play can be defined as a thrilling and exciting activity that provides opportunities for challenge, testing limits, exploring boundaries, and learning about injury risk. 

The centre’s learning environment complements the play-based program, and supports children’s self-esteem, self-help skills and emotional wellbeing. The Educators encourage children to explore their world around them and explore connections to nature through dirt, water, and sand play.

• Vacation Care

The focus of the educators is to provide a secure and nurturing environment for the children so as to promote a sense of belonging. All of the educators have been with the centre since it opened, providing a sense of consistency which helps to strengthen the bonds with the children and families. 

Many educators come from diverse backgrounds, including Indigenous, Indian and Nigerian. Some are bilingual so can communicate with the children in many different languages when required.

Parents are offered a complementary barista coffee and baked treat at drop off time, which is a chance for them to chat to educators about the children’s plans for the day and to ask any questions they may have. 

The Centre Director, Nikki Parkinson, has been with the company for 10 years. She is welcoming, friendly, knowledgeable, and builds and forms great relationships with the families and their children. 

The centre strives to share information, unique skills, and cultural values between Educators and families, and they support families in their parenting role by sharing knowledge and resources. The Educators are committed and undertake regular professional development, to extend their professional knowledge to ensure their practices are current within the industry.

I enjoy working at Imagine Childcare and Kindergarten Werribee. I have a strong and supportive team. My team are dedicated professionals who enjoy what they do. They inspire me each and every day. Each day is a new adventure at Imagine Werribee and I find myself growing as a Centre Director.  My passion is building strong relationships with the families at our service. I enjoy seeing the smiling faces of the children as they come through our door. The support I receive from our senior management team is amazing.

I have worked in many Childcare & Kindergartens across my years in the childcare community. This centre is by far the best. Educators who go above and beyond to nurture and provide safe and enriching experiences and learning in a natural play-based environment with lots of stimulating experiences that is age appropriate for all children 0-5 years.

The Director Nikki is loyal, compassionate, understanding, welcoming and supportive to not only the Educators, to families and the children, catering for their needs/strengths and interests. I have been thrilled working here in this new centre, alongside the director, Educators, children and families, building warm, trusting and positive relationships. I look forward to many more amazing memories created at Imagine Werribee.
