Springfield Child Care & Early Education Centre overview
Do you remember that special natural place you played in as a child? Under the house? In the back yard? On the beach? Down by the creek? Do you remember the joys of a muddy puddle? The excitement of playing in the rain? Looking at a butterfly? Watching ants? Making up games? Believing that anything is possible?
At Springfield Child Care and Early Education Centre, connecting children to the environment and nature is very important to us. We believe that children flourish through the simple things, through connection with nature, time to create their own games and nurturing relationships. Through the provision of child guided, responsive, nature based learning we grow creative and innovative problem solvers, responsible adventurers and playful collaborative thinkers.
Children come first at Springfield Child Care and Early Education Centre. We are focused on children having authentic childhood experiences.
Feel free to give our Director Kristy a call (3381 8882) as she would love to organise a tour and answer any questions you may have, or pop in for a tour to 6 Community Place, Springfield (we are the bottom centre on the left hand side).
We have a beautiful, natural centre and kind, caring, dedicated staff. Our sister centre in Karana Downs was the first Long Day Care Centre in Australia to be awarded the prestigious Excellent rating in September 2013 (there are still just over 20 in Australia), and our Capalaba centre has achieved the Exceeding rating, and is in the process of applying for the excellent rating too - children are always at the forefront of every thing we do.
We attended the World Forum for Early Care and Education in Puerto Rico in May 2014, and were so inspired and privileged to be connected with so many amazing educators from around the world - we were very proud to be the only Queensland attendees! Our Director Kristy was a state finalist for Educator of the year this year and our centre was nominated for centre of the year. To top off a great 2014, our owner was a finalist in the Telstra Women's Business Awards for our centres, their prominent standing in the industry, and our commitment to providing the absolute best outcomes for young children. 2015 started off with our owner being nominated for an Australia Day Award for our advocation for children's rights to play, and we continue each year to be nominated or finalists in a range of categories in the Australian Family Early Education and Care Awards.
You'll know we're the perfect place for your child when you walk through the door and see the children engaging in our beautiful nature-based playground. We know that if you're look for an amazing centre, you'll love ours .... children thrive in our natural environment and have beautiful, authentic childhood experiences.

My son started with Springfield Child Care & Early Education Centre after leaving another centre & we could not be happier! He gets so much variety in his day & always has something to show me from what he's been doing. The daily reflection emails are fantastic to receive & to be able to see at work what he's been doing all day, always makes me smile. I love that time is taken to make entries in his book with pictures or a personal story & it really brings home the care all the lovely ladies who work there put into all the children. I can't say enough how amazing everyone is & am 100% confident leaving my little man in their care. Everyone is always very welcoming & always has time for any questions I have, or to give me feedback on things they notice. Nothing is too much trouble & you can just tell when someone loves what they do & these ladies really show that. The centre itself is fantastic with a huge & varied play area that is grassed, has a stage, a sandpit AND a mud pit! Love it! And inside the rooms are all very stimulating & clean & there is a good deal of emphasis on nature & living things which I love. There’s activities for parents to come along to as well & it’s so nice to be able to come & be involved & watch everyone in their element. I could probably go on all day but should stop myself so there's room for others! I’ll just say that my son always has a great time with all his "missesses' & absolutely loves it there...makes me wish I was a little kid again so I could go too! Thanks ladies! x Read more
