Centre philosophy
Centre philosophy
Young children have lively minds from the start. We strive to make the most of this natural quality by enabling them to experience, investigate, care about others, interact, develop and create. We strive to deepen and strengthen children’s natural abilities by providing them with the healthiest environment possible.
About the Curriculum
About the Curriculum
Language Development
Our babies engage in enjoyable interactions as they make and play with sounds. Our educators are attuned to respond sensitively and encouragingly as our youngest children begin to communicate. We value the linguistic heritage of the children in our care and work with families to build upon a child’s language at home.
Physical Development
The first few years of a child’s life are a time of rapid growth and our specially appointed nursery rooms are filled with baby gym equipment that encourages exploration and gross motor skill development.
Social Development
Babies are born social creatures, connecting with their caregivers through social smiles and nurturing interactions. Our youngest children enjoy the company of other babies as they learn to navigate new environments. Our babies participate in parallel play, an important first step in learning how to play with others.
Independence
At this age our children naturally want to take agency over their lives. We foster this development by providing children with ample opportunities to make self-directed choices throughout the day.
Language Development
Our language development continues to be fostered through a rich learning environment of story time and songs. Children begin to communicate with one and other, supported by our Educators.
Physical Development
Our children take part in our Extra Curricular programs of Yoga, sports, dance and cooking which foster the development of gross and fine motor skills.
Social Development
Children naturally push boundaries at the age of 2 and 3. Our Educators understand this important part of self-discovery and encourage collaboration and empathy as our children learn about themselves and the world around them.
Literacy & Numeracy
Literacy and numeracy learning experiences are integrated into daily interactions as our Educators provide the tools and skill development to cultivate a love of learning.
Technology
Technology is introduced as a valuable learning and research tool, through the use of I-pads and interactive smart boards our children understand the importance of digital literacy skills.
Self-Motivated Learning
Our children continue to develop their confidence and inspired by their Educators explore their passions and interests.
School Readiness
Our holistic School Readiness program develops confident, happy, and curious little people who are well rounded in a wide range of preparatory skills including academic, social, emotional, and physical skills.
Sustainability
Practicing sustainability through our hands on Garden to Plate program, our Bee’s appreciate the interdependence between plants, people, animals and the land. Understanding the connection between their actions and the environment.
Service and Empathy
Our children meaningfully contribute to our local communities. Through thoughtful card creation and the donation of clothing and goods to families in need.

As parents, choosing the right early learning centre for our boys was such an important decision, and Willowbee turned out to be the perfect choice. Both of our boys have attended Willowbee over the past five years, and it has been such a positive and rewarding experience for them—and for us as a family. The boys have absolutely loved their time there, forming wonderful connections with the educators and building strong friendships with other children. Mega and Lua, in particular, have been incredible. Their dedication, warmth, and ability to nurture the children’s learning and growth have been truly exceptional. We’ve been amazed at how much the boys have learned during their time at Willowbee. The programs are thoughtfully designed, preparing them for school while fostering a genuine love of learning. Beyond the academic preparation, the social skills and confidence they’ve developed have been invaluable. As we approach our last days at Willowbee, it’s bittersweet to say goodbye. We will miss the caring and supportive team who have made such a difference in our boys' lives. Thank you, Willowbee, for everything you’ve done for our family—you’ll always hold a special place in our hearts! Read more
