- School readiness: a play-based curriculum tailored to individual interests and strengths, to help prepare the children for a smooth transition to primary school.
- Early Learning STEM Australia (ELSA): play-based digital learning to explore science, technology, engineering and mathematics. It encourages children to ask questions, make predictions, experiment, and reflect.
- ELLA: an exciting digital language learning program for preschoolers. Children learn one of 13 languages using play-based apps, designed to reflect children’s interests, like cooking, art, building, role-play and music.
- Munch and Move: supports healthy eating and physical activity habits in young children with both structured physical programs and unstructured, spontaneous activity.
- Sustainability: teaches children about and promotes sustainability. The centre encourages all staff, children, and families to be environmentally responsible and show respect for our environment and resources.
Meet the team
Meet the team
Kradle 2 Krayons Penrith is proud to have a culturally diverse team of qualified, dedicated and long-standing early childhood professionals. The multicultural team ensures that all children feel welcomed and valued.
Educators aim to instil a love of lifelong learning and to make a difference in the life of each child, their families, and communities. The team works closely with families so that programs meet the needs of children, and that all children feel safe and secure.
The centre’s educators also focus on teamwork and collaboration, building positive and respectful relationships with one another, and modelling these to the children and families.
Parent communication and involvement
Parent communication and involvement
The centre acknowledges that the families are children’s first teachers. Educators understand the importance of families within a child’s life and strive to create secure, respectful, and reciprocal relationships with all family members.
Educators are committed to working with families to create high quality learning environments for every child. The team encourages and welcomes family involvement and feedback. Families are welcome to drop into the centre and take part in centre events.
About the curriculum
About the curriculum
The centre’s primary focus is to develop children’s natural enthusiasm for learning. Educators foster confidence and positive self-esteem, which can provide a great foundation for future success.
The centre curriculum is fun and stimulating, and includes age-specific learning to nurture a sense of achievement.
Burumin Room: Babies
The Burumin room provides a loving, homelike and calm environment. Educators recognise the importance of building secure attachments through individualised care routines in an environment that is responsive to each child’s interests, strengths, and abilities.
The babies room follows a play-based emergent curriculum. Babies have uninterrupted play with lots of support, and opportunities to build on their physical strength and motor coordination, fine and gross motor skills, hand/eye and eye/foot coordination and full body movement.1
Burraga Room: Toddlers
The centre provides a safe environment for toddlers to express themselves. At this stage, educators focus on the children’s self-help skills, sense of agency, communication, resilience, understanding and emotional regulation. The children also learn about respect for their belongings, each other, nature, animals, and the environment.
The space is designed to engage the toddler’s keen sense of curiosity. They learn through sensory play experiences, energetic music, fun physical activities for gross and fine motor development, plus quiet play and shared reading times.
Buru Room: Preschool
At preschool age, a child’s sense of agency and resilience is developed. Educators support this with experiences that encourage them to be responsible for themselves and their belongings, helping them manage considered risks and understanding their range of emotions.
Following a play-based, emergent curriculum, preschoolers have a flexible routine that includes progressive meals, indoor/outdoor play and decision making. They develop skills in relationship building and communication, and early learning with numbers, letters, sounds and STEM activities.

The centre might not be the flashiest from the outside, but the facilities inside and the educators are top notch. It’s been incredible how my daughter has developed over the past year, and I can only thank their effort and patience with her. Coming from another child care centre, moving to K2K was a great decision we made. Read more

Our daughter had limited exposure to social situations due to lockdowns and COVID. We enrolled her into Kradle 2 Krayons and she struggled to settle (and no doubt gave the educators a hard time!). Given the stress that you have as a parent knowing your child is not happy we found the support and communication from K2K fantastic. They offered occasional care which gave us the flexibility we needed in our situation and kept us well informed. Thank you! Read more
