Centre philosophy
In Raising Stars, we committed to fostering a respectful and inclusive environment that acknowledges and celebrates the cultural heritage of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, and we are dedicated to embedding Aboriginal perspectives into our daily practices and educational programs.
We believe that children learn through play, to become confident and involved learners. We believe that the children’s early years are the most significant for their development.
We believe for children to develop to their full potential they need to feel they belong by feeling loved, nurtured and cared for and feeling accepted for who they are.
We believe that Educators need to work in partnership with families as they are their primary educators to provide professional and high-quality care and education for young children.
We believe in the significance of children’s many belongings; first through their relationship and learning with families, which are their first and most important educators. All educators within the centre need to work together to help the children to develop to their full potential.
We believe that children’s learning is meaningful here now and as a foundation for their lives in the future.
We believe children should be happy, active and involved learners.
The early learning centre must provide an environment that is warm, secure, challenging, stimulating and caring to promote children’s independence, agency, learning growth, development, individuality, creativity, building on self-esteem and confidence.
We believe all children are unique individuals and therefore should all be treated with respect and equality.
We believe in encouraging the children’s respect and appreciation for the outdoor environment and living and non-living things.
We believe in providing programs that reflect on the children’s interests and incorporate intentional teaching practices with a child-centred approach.
We believe that all children should be given equally opportunities regardless of their gender, ability, culture or economical background.
