About the Curriculum

About the Curriculum
We follow our STRONG Beginnings Curriculum.
We believe every child’s learning journey is unique. That is why our highly qualified teaching teams customise Story House’s STRONG Beginnings Curriculum to each individual child’s learning and development needs. Our learning approach is based on educational research where every day your child can develop 21st-century skills being prepared for school and life.
This tailored approach nurtures children’s learning and growth as they develop skills such as socialisation, emotional regulation, building resilience, and understanding the importance of caring for their body and brain through our mindfulness and nutrition programs.
Meet the team

Meet the team
Our passionate team brings a wealth of experience and dedication to creating a warm, nurturing environment where children feel safe, valued, and supported. From our early childhood teacher, Samantha, with over 25 years of experience in special education, to our talented chef Ange, who is also a qualified educator, every team member plays a vital role in shaping a joyful and enriching learning space.
Each day, we welcome children and families with warm smiles, fostering a strong sense of belonging. Our long-term educators embrace inclusivity, celebrating cultural diversity and ensuring every child thrives. Above all, we prioritise the health, safety, and wellbeing of both our educators and children.

Our amazing in-house Chef Ange, is also a qualified educator! She brings more than just delicious meals to the table - she creates meaningful mealtime experiences. Ange loves chatting and engaging with the children, making mealtime a fun and social part of the day.
Passionate about sustainability, she sorts food scraps for our veggie garden and chickens, teaching little ones about reducing waste and caring for the environment. Mealtime is a special ritual here - rather than plated meals, children serve themselves from shared platters, encouraging independence and choice.
And of course, Ange’s homemade birthday cupcakes are a hit every time - just ask the kids!
We cater to dietary needs, including cultural preferences, allergies, and intolerances, ensuring every child is supported. Mealtimes are social and engaging, with interactive cooking classes, food discussions, and educators modelling healthy choices. Through these experiences, children develop lifelong healthy eating habits in a fun and meaningful way.

Pathway to School
Our 3-year-old Long day care and 4-year-old Kindergarten programs nurture young learners as they gain confidence, make decisions, and develop emotional strength and social connections. Children learn to collaborate, problem-solve, and express themselves while building key skills in literacy, numeracy, and communication. They also explore healthy choices, personal responsibility, and creative thinking in an engaging and supportive environment.
We provide inquiry-based curriculum through play - across exciting learning areas, including:
- STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Maths)
- Language and Literacy
- Active and Involved Citizens
- Nature Play and Sustainability
- The Arts
- Health and Wellbeing
With a balance of small and whole-group experiences, both indoors and outdoors, children are encouraged to wonder, discover, and grow - preparing them for a bright future ahead!
What the parents say

What the parents say
I’ve looked at over 20 day care centres on the Gold Coast, and this is 100% the best. They are absolutely lovely and my son is thriving there. It's always a pleasure to drop my son off and they send photos throughout the day. Wonderful staff.

Our boys have formed a really beautiful bond with the lovely ladies at Kids House Southport, who show such love for everyone in their care. They have been this wonderful presence in the boys' lives and they have skipped to kindy every week just excited to be there. Thank you for cuddling them when they cry, comforting them when they hurt themselves, playing with them, teaching them everything from letters to crafts to manners, personal care and how to be good friends.
Trina - parent
I cannot recommend Kids House Southport highly enough. I was nervous about going back to work and placing my son in care but all the educators put my mind at ease quickly with their experience, knowledge and caring approach. My son loves his time at the child care centre and it is amazing to see how much he has grown and developed over his time here. The activities they do are both educational and fun and we love seeing what he gets up to during the day with the daily communication we receive.
