About the Curriculum
About the Curriculum
“Let the child be the scriptwriter, director and the actor in their own play” - Magda Gerber
Nursery Space: 6 weeks – 2 years
Learning starts from before birth, and our Educators have created a welcoming and nurturing nursery environment where each baby feels safe to explore and discover new things - through their senses, their communication and cues (body language, facial expression and sounds) and by experimenting. On any given day you can see the nursery children engaging in all types of play, water play, music time, story time and more. Every day provides a brand new, exciting adventure for our babies to support their development, learning and wellbeing!
Toddler Space: 2 - 3 years
Our teachers and educators encourage the children to learn through play to help enhance their sensory-motor development. This happens through carefully planned music, dance, games and reading experiences.
On any given day the Toddler children can be seen developing their numeracy by building a tower, sorting objects, pointing and identifying shapes and patterns and participating in counting songs and games.
Children in our toddler space are encouraged to participate in group play. Group play is important as it helps our toddlers develop important social skills such as, turn taking, developing self confidence and emotional self regulation. Our team helps children through talking, planning and role modelling.
Kindergarten Space: 3 – 6 years
Kindergarten is a unique time for learning with peers and developing skills for later learning including confidence and curiosity, important skills for starting school. Our play-based program encourages active engagement in learning and supports a range of positive developmental outcomes including resilience, independence, critical thinking and creativity.
The oral language supports literacy learning. A child’s oral language ability is the best predictor for later success in learning to read and write. Hearing the sounds within a language is the first critical step for all literacy learning. Our team supports our Kindergarten children's development by engaging in rich discussions, introducing new vocabulary as part of everyday conversations, as well as singing, playing games, and reading with the children daily.
Throughout the Kindergarten year, children use their language to share ideas, ask questions, express themselves, and connect with peers and adults in social settings.
Social-emotional skills, including the ability to self-regulate emotions, is supported through group learning environments. Our team supports each child’s social and emotional development by labelling and talking about emotions and supporting appropriate responses as together, they engage in new and challenging situations. Lastly, ensuring that all children are ready for the ‘big school’ by preparing them for all that ‘big school’ has to offer.
Morning
Allie is 11 months old and enjoys sensory play outside in the sandpit with her friends. She sits near her educator who helps teach her how to scoop the sand into the bucket. Allie is learning how to dig, carry, and move the sand. She is also exploring texture and learning what happens to the sand when she adds water!
Lunch
Allie has finished her lunch and is preparing to take a nap. Her educator changes her nappy, prepares a bottle and reads Allie a story before her afternoon sleep.
Afternoon
Allie and some of her nursery friends enjoy some story time and songs outside in the shaded garden. They read ‘Peepo’ which is Allie’s favourite book.
Morning
Peter is two and a half years old and loves to start his day at the centre outside on the climbing equipment. His friends join him, and together they pretend to be pirates on a ship looking for treasure. Through this exciting dramatic play, Peter is learning about himself and the world around him. Dramatic play is helping Peter identify his interests, abilities, likes and dislikes.
Lunch
Peter is watering the vegetables in the garden. By doing this, Peter is learning the importance of growing and caring for the veggies in the garden. Peter picks a tomato from the garden, which the Chef will use to help make Peter and his friend’s lunch - Spaghetti Bolognese!
Afternoon
Peter enjoys art, and today he is painting a beach scene from a recent family holiday. He adds the finishing touches and sets the painting aside to dry; so that he can take it home to share with his family.
While painting, Peter is learning how to express himself creatively and how to convey his ideas and emotions. Painting is also helping develop Peter’s hand eye coordination, finger, wrist and hand strength. Making marks on paper is important for self expression as well as later learning.
Morning
Kara is almost five years old and can’t wait for today’s carpentry experience - she loves building things! Carpentry experiences allow Kara and her friends to extend their learning through real-life experiences. While participating in carpentry, Kara is learning to problem solve, experiment and predict. She is also improving her hand eye coordination, manipulative skills and muscular strength.
Lunch
Before Kara sits down for lunch with her friends and educators, Kara takes part in the centre’s sports program. Kara loves sports. Sports helps Kara improve her flexibility and strength (perfect for growing bodies!). Sports also allows her to practice different skills in a fun and engaging way.
Afternoon
Kara is off to ‘big school’ next year and she can't wait to start! Kara and her friends will be visiting the local primary school next week. In preparation for the visit, the class is creating a list of questions to ask the Principal and school children.
Health and Nutrition
Health and Nutrition
Our centre chef prepares and cooks healthy and nutritious meals daily, catering to the unique dietary requirements of every child. We believe that by encouraging active participation (such as growing their own fruit and vegetables, preparing, and finally cooking!) children learn to appreciate and understand the importance of healthy eating.
Our centre offers children nutrient-rich, unprocessed, and seasonal whole foods – created to delight the fussiest eaters.

After moving from Sydney to the Gold Coast a few months ago, my husband and I were concerned about never finding a warm and inviting environment for our four year old son to attend pre-kindy as we compared centers to my sons previous daycare. After a single day of attendance at 'Kool kids Pacific Pines', our minds lay to rest. What solidified our decision making process was after meeting the fantastic staff, in particular Miss Angie. She is a ray of sunshine on a cloudy day (as cliche as it sounds). Her warm and bubbly personality is so welcoming and comforting. She shows love whilst maintaining professionalism. She is dedicated and makes time for all my small chats as significant or insignificant that may be, and at the same time is equally there for everyone else. My son not only feels safe but feels confident in a school setting as if he were at home. In just a few months of attendance, he looks forward to practising name writing, colouring-in, phonetics practice, reading books together, making new friendships, and reciting songs. Most of which he had very little interest in doing so prior. The most difference I see in him is that he can't wait to attend class for the day, and doesn't want to leave right away upon pick up. He's come out of his shell, which is inevitably what we longed for. Thank you so much, we are forever greatful 🌻 Read more

Absolutely beautiful educator who gives the kids so much love and attention. She goes above and beyond in her role and her bright bubbly personality is so nice to walk in to each day. My daughter has truly loved being in her class this year and often repeats the lovely things Ange says to her during the day. This helps so much with her confidence and we feel so comfortable sending our daughter to her each day. Much love to this beautiful lady 💗💗 Read more

We appreciate the teachers, but the new management is terrible. 1. We had issues with the enrollment and raised the question, but the manager assistant E*** didn’t give us any explanation. While all the other kids are already in the 2025 class, but our child is left behind and the no body is asking . After chasing for an answer, we were given two terrible options: switch to a less familiar class or just accept whatever day she gave us. 2. We submitted the form for the 2025 class, signed it, and got confirmation from the center that the days were secured. Then, Ala** used the excuse of management changeovers and rudely told us the days were confirmed, but not the class. How can a kindergarten change a child’s class without telling the parents? Our child has had the same friends for two years, and now we’re forced to switch to another class with no notice! 3. In the end, the new manager A**** said her "goodwill" was waiving the two-weeks notice, so we can pulled our child out the next day. We had no backup plan for other kindy, and she think that s a good will gesture ?The management showed zero care or compassionate. It felt like we & the kid were just a number to them. 4. We took a short overseas break and canalled the enrolment temporarily. This was never an issue with previous management, but E*** made it a huge problem. She warned us not to cancel for a holiday, but we did. As we just want to save every penny due to financial pressure. When we returned, she said she couldn’t re-enrol our child and told us to deal by ourselves , so I come up with the idea to check in Centrelink myself. We spent 5 hours at Centrelink, and the problem was solved with just one call from them to her, because Er** did not submit her part of documents . Our child went without kindergarten for over a week! Not to mention those annual leave had to be taken to look after the kid, because the new manager did not submit her part of work to centerlink. Crystal, the previous manager, never had any issues like this. ( we had the same application during her tenure) We’ve been with this kindergarten for two years and loved it. Previous management like Debbie, Crystal, and Louisa made it great. But the new management has been nothing but trouble, wasting our time and treating people unfairly. Read more
