Harmony Early Education Yarrabilba One Centre overview
At Harmony, we nourish and encourage your child to continue becoming the very person they are meant to be.
Rather than just teach, we collaborate with each child and family to provide an extraordinary environment of learning.
The Big Difference
Different than other centres, our holistic approach to early learning is based on extensive research and the work of renowned inspirational theorists. Our qualified educators draw on the knowledge and philosophies of these experts to create an environment that allows for exceptional learning and development.
Our contemporary learning journey helps your child be strong, confident, happy and healthy – in both mind and body. We provide a calm and peaceful place for your child to build confidence in themselves and their abilities.
We create learning opportunities through rich environments that foster development and prepare your child for their school years.
Your child is viewed as being confident and capable as we recognise and respond to their learning dispositions, building an individual programme to meet their specific learning styles and ensuring your child’s learning journey is unique.

My name is Rhyse and I am one of the Centre Directors at Harmony Yarrabilba. I have been working in the Early Childhood sector for around 13 years, with three of those being at Harmony. I hold a Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care and I am currently working towards a Bachelor of Education. I am a father of three girls.
From the moment that I begun at Harmony Yarrabilba it was very clear that my personal beliefs and values aligned directly with those that Harmony is so passionate about. I have always believed in providing children with opportunities to display that they are confident, capable and full of incredible perspective, which is reflected in the Harmony curriculum. Harmony has always provided opportunities for personal and professional growth within the sector and believes that a strong education and care setting can be supported by having knowledgeable staff from a variety of backgrounds. Harmony’s dedication to using the environment as a teacher is evident in the way provocations and experiences are planned and created.

Health and Nutrition
Health and Nutrition
At Harmony Early Education Yarrabilba, the educators are focused on supporting each child’s health, wellbeing and creative expression. Each day, healthy and nutritious meals are offered to the children, using a four-week rotating seasonal menu which was designed by a nutritionist.
Educators understand that healthy food, drinks and habits greatly impact the learning and growth of each child. The educators teach the children to practice the art of mindful eating. With relaxed mealtimes, each child will share their eating experiences with educators and friends.
The on-site chef prepares nutritionally balanced meals using fresh, wholesome ingredients. Each day, the children will meet a significant amount of their daily nutritional requirements by eating at Harmony.
The centre follows Nutrition Australia national guidelines and recommendations for the menus. This is a nut free centre and is accommodating of individual allergies.
Mealtimes at Harmony are relaxed and supervised to encourage healthy eating practices; include a range of textures and tastes appropriate to the developmental stages of different age groups; offer a variety of foods such as vegetables, fruits, lean meat, fish, chicken, milk, yoghurts and cheese; and are accompanied by water and milk.

Vision
Our vision is to nurture and assist every child to develop their unique abilities and discover their future unlimited potential.
Harmony Early Education is a value-based early learning environment where your child can develop into a strong, confident, happy and healthy individual – in both mind and body.
Values
Our values are embedded into everything we do – with every child. In addition to believing these values, we live them out every day at Harmony.
* We believe all learning is integrated and interconnected and unique for each child.
* We value and respect cultural diversity, individual differences and development.
* We see value in adapting the learning environment to each child’s developmental stage.
* We allow children to take initiative and experience freedom while playing.
* We discover and encourage the living beauty of childhood imagination.
These values are integrated into our high-quality educational programs based on the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) and emergent curriculum play-based learning.
We aspire to:
* Provide an atmosphere which awakens the love of learning.
* Nurture a sense of wonder and inspire the spirit of human imagination.
* Follow a holistic approach encompassing a connection of mind, body and spirit.
* Cultivate a child’s self-awareness of their body, feelings, thoughts and attitudes.
* Support the discovery of each child’s unique personality.
* Foster an understanding and respect for the natural environment.
* Encourage sustainable practices to nurture children’s understanding of their responsibility to care for the environment.
Our commitments:
All our educators are guided by our ‘Statement of Intent’ which outlines our philosophy, ethics and social responsibility. We are committed to:
* upholding the rights of all children and acknowledges the place of childhood as a unique and critical part of human lifespan development.
* supporting educators as lifelong learners who will always act collectively and collaboratively in the best interests of children and each other.
* recognising families as children’s most important social and cultural community, where they learn about who they are and their place in the world.
* ensuring the broader community share a united obligation as advocates for and on behalf of our youngest citizens, attentive to the international mandate that the voices of children should be heard and acted upon.
* guaranteeing the principles and practices which frame the early childhood profession in Australia and underpin our work with and alongside children, families and colleagues.
About the curriculum
About the curriculum
Willow: 0 - 12 months (8 places) and Bambini: 0 - 12 months (12 places) and Petit: 12 - 24 months (12 places) and Eden: 12 - 24 months (8 places) and Astrid: 12 - 24 months (16 places)
The naturally curious infants begin to explore as they observe, listen, investigate and learn. The educators are committed to providing a safe and stimulating environment for children’s holistic growth, development and sense of belonging.
The educators welcome each new infant with respect and anticipation. They take the time to learn about each child through careful observation and through daily communication with families to understand their unique requirements and routines.
Free movement: the educators believe in Emmi Pickler’s philosophy, “Babies are allowed to move naturally and spontaneously follow their own developmental timetable.” Environments at Harmony are designed to invite children’s free movement and educators encourage the infants to reach out, roll, crawl and cruise in order to develop their core muscles which supports them to become independently mobile.
Baby led weaning: educators invite children to feed themselves from the time they commence solids, following the infant’s lead. The centre provides a healthy, balanced mix of finger foods and supports the child to monitor how much they wish to eat. Educators are always sitting and engaging with the child during mealtimes.
Individualised care moments: educators remain ‘present’ during nappy change times and communicate respectfully with children. Emmi Pikler and Magda Gerber believe caregivers need to take the time to make nappy-changing, feeding, bathing and dressing an unhurried, relaxed and pleasant quality time – with the baby being an active partner.
Exploratory times: each day children at Harmony have uninterrupted time for play and interaction. Crawling and walking infants are invited to freely explore the indoor and outdoor areas and gardens, interacting with nature, each other, and the world around them. Non-mobile infants are supported by the educators.
Luna: 2-3 years (20 places) and Sage: 2 - 3 years (20 places) and Spirit 2 - 3 years (16 places)
At this age, the children learn through exploration, investigation and inquiry. The passionate early childhood educators at the centre welcome each child with enthusiasm and respect. They know that this age group is curious, energetic and in a growth leap – that’s why the educators focus on learning about each child and develop a self-paced environment to help them flourish and succeed. Educators encourage comprehensive, two-way communication to keep parents informed with how their child is progressing.
Rest and sleep times: the educators begin to develop rest and sleep rituals for the two to three year olds. For those children who do not require sleep during their day, educators offer alternative, quiet-time learning experiences.
Mealtimes: children are viewed as confident and capable during mealtime and are aware of their own needs. Educators know that they’ll eat as much or as little as their body needs.
Independent toileting: educators invite children to this experience with patience and trust. They create an unrushed and positive experience for each child while they gain toileting independence. A child will be supported with the utmost respect and with special attention to their dignity during these moments.
Creative experiences: educators invite children to explore a selection of materials and resources, colour palettes, utensils and surfaces each day – all readily available and within easy access to express their thinking and understanding of the world.
Exploratory times: each day, the children are offered large blocks of uninterrupted time for play and inquiry. Children at Harmony can plan for play across all our spaces using a wide variety of resources and materials with support from peers and educators.
Aura: 3 - 4 years (22 places) and Sol: 3 - 4 years (11 places) and Echo: 4 - 5 years (22 places) and Reign: 4 - 5 years (23 places)
At Harmony, the educators are committed to providing an environment which enables children to flourish as critical thinkers, confident learners and resilient play partners. The qualified pre-kindergarten, kindergarten and preschool teachers and educators are committed to working with and alongside each child as they engage with the ever-changing nature of the world. Educators know they’ll need a wide range of life skills and an emerging sense of self as they approach their school years.
Morning meetings: this group’s morning meetings are an important launch point and key ritual for the day. All children are encouraged to share their thinking for play and encouraged to plan for their play. This could be a verbal plan discussed with an educator or a drawing/record of their plan. This helps them create a structure for their large block of uninterrupted time in the morning.
Mealtimes: educators work with progressive meals times as part of supporting self-regulation for all age groups of children. In this way, children have an opportunity to sit with small groups of friends to enjoy a self-serve meal or snack at the table. Children use real crockery and utensils in order to connect to the real world. Educators always sit at the table alongside children to support this social learning experience.
Rest times: educators use rest time as an opportunity for children to begin to develop autonomy as they are supported by educators to go to sleep or rest independently – including older infants. All children can rest or participate in quiet time learning activities for a period during the day to recharge for the afternoon.
Small group times: these are offered throughout the day and include music, dance, story reading and storytelling, small and large muscle physical play, games with rules, and reflections on learning.
Creative experiences: the educators invite children to explore a selection of materials and resources, colour palettes, utensils and mediums each day– all readily available and within easy access to express their thinking and understanding of the world.
Exploratory times: each day children are offered large blocks of uninterrupted time for play and inquiry. Children at Harmony can plan for play across all our spaces using a wide variety of resources and materials with support from peers and educators.

My husband and I have had our children looked after by Harmony since our youngest was one. Since then we’ve added two more members to our Harmony family and trust these beautiful people with all of our childrens lives. We have such great relationships with not only the educators but the management team aswell and are always letting others know how impressed we are. Not only is it a beautiful centre, but it’s managed fantastically from the centre directors to the relationship manager and to the educators, we couldn’t fault the place. Communication is great and we also love the bonds our children share with their educators. We couldn’t thank our harmony family enough if we tried ♥️ Read more
