Welcome to Journey Early Learning Burwood

Journey Early Learning Centre – Burwood is a brand new purpose built early learning child care centre and is located opposite St. Scholastica’s Catholic Primary School. Our Journey Early Learning Centre provides a nurturing environment for children aged from 6 weeks to 6 years of age and makes a positive start to a life of learning, development, growth and opportunity.

Our early learning and child care centre is conveniently located just off the Burwood Highway in Starling Street providing childcare services to the community of Burwood and surrounding areas. We are passionate about guiding developmental outcomes and providing a creative environment for children. Our Burwood facility includes two large covered nature-based playspaces, a waterplay area and big open rooms filled with resources to inspire our children to learn and grow.

We strive to provide a personalised experience to our children, families, community and each other… everyday! Another added service is our qualified, onsite Cook producing fresh, nutritious meals throughout the day, catering for all special dietary needs and requirements.

We pride ourselves on the quality of our curriculum, the character of our team and the connections we share with our families and community. We use the Early Years Learning Framework as a basis for our curriculum and ensure we meet and aim to exceed, the National Quality Standards.

Could not have found a better center for my baby boy! The staff are absolutely incredible and go the extra mile for all of the children. It's so comforting to know that my child is in the best hands. The food is exceptional and my child is always having a second helping! The communication between parents and staff is outstanding. I am constantly receiving updates on what my child has eaten, how long they have slept and their nappy changes! Could not recommend this center enough! Beyond impressed.

The staff at Journey are truly exceptional and have become like an extended family to us. I would recommend them to anyone in search of a child care center in the area. Their outdoor play area is a hit with awesome facilities, and I can't say enough about how friendly and caring the staff are, not just to our little one, but to us parents too! The food is amazing also. We are so happy that we enrolled our daughter here and cannot thank the team of staff for all they do

Meet the team

Hello! I'm Thalia (pronounced Tahlia), your new Centre Manager at Journey Burwood. Originally from a small town in NSW, I've had the pleasure of working in Brisbane and Melbourne, accumulating valuable experience across various Early Years services and roles. Outside of being a Centre Manager, you'll find me indulging in my interests such as: spending quality time with my little chihuahua, hitting the gym, attending Breathwork and Meditation Classes, immersing myself in a good book, and occasionally indulging in a Netflix binge!

I’m eager to continue role modelling how to be considerate to our environment, and how to build and maintain a great sense of belonging with our community. I believe in honest and transparent communication with families, children and my team. I feel a strong sense of connection with our existing families and look forward to building meaningful and respectful relationships with new families.

With nearly a decade of experience in childcare, time has truly flown by! As a Centre Manager, my key interests lie in supporting our fantastic team of educators to deliver the best Early Years education and experiences for the children. Building strong relationships with both the children and their families is at the heart of what I do.

Joining Journey is an exciting venture for me, and I'm eager to connect not only with the educators, children, and families at Burwood but also with the entire Journey team across different services and support roles. When it comes to working with families in our service, I believe in creating a solid partnership between myself, our incredible educators, and the families. We all share the same goal of providing the best Early Years care and education, and together, we can make this a wonderful experience for everyone involved.
