Centre philosophy

Centre philosophy
Montessori education is a personalised approach developed by Dr Maria Montessori, proven successful for over a century. It tailors learning to each child's style, stage, and interests, fostering academic and well-being foundations through hands-on experiences and real-world problem-solving. Montessori educators observe children's interests and guide them toward relevant materials for purposeful and engaging learning. This method acknowledges diverse learning paces and preferences, promoting respect, independence, and freedom for children to direct their own learning, leading to high motivation and a love for learning.
About the curriculum

About the curriculum
Curriculum:
The curriculum at Montessori Academy follows a blended approach, drawing on both Montessori principles and the Early Years Learning Framework. The curriculum follows five key learning areas:
- Practical Life: exercises and activities that children observe in daily life to develop their independence, concentration and fine motor skills.
- Sensorial: activities that help to refine the senses and lay the foundation of early mathematics, language and geometry.
- Mathematics: hands on experiences that teach both abstract and concrete mathematical concepts.
- Language: exercises that help the children to develop their vocabulary and understanding of language.
- Cultural Studies: children learn about culture and community through subjects such as Geography, Botany, Zoology, Science, History, Music and Art.
The educators use Montessori materials to teach the curriculum and tailor the learning to each individual child.

This was particularly important to me, as I wanted to establish a strong foundation of independence and a genuine love of learning in my children from an early age. Having experienced a variety of childcare options, Montessori Academy is without a doubt my preferred choice. The nurturing environment and the commitment to the Montessori philosophy have made a significant positive impact on my children's development. Read more
