🖐💛 “Safe Hands” and the See, Act, Tell Framework 💛🖐 In the toddler room, educators have been thoughtfully embedding the See, Act, Tell framework into the children’s learning, helping little ones build a strong sense of safety, trust, and connection. This week, the toddlers took part in a meaningful and creative activity by colouring in their own “Safe Hands.” During this activity, they chatted with their educators about five special people they feel safe with—those they can turn to when they’re feeling upset, scared, or unsure. It was heartwarming to hear the children share their thoughts. Many mentioned their mums and dads, while others spoke lovingly about their siblings, grandparents, teachers, and friends 🥰. 🎨👶 Little Chefs at Play! 🍩☕🍦 Today in the toddler room, our curious little ones rolled up their sleeves and helped make Play-Doh from scratch! 👏 They were so excited to take part in the process – choosing their own colours and watching the ingredients transform into soft, squishy Play-Doh right before their eyes! 🌈✨ Once the Play-Doh was ready, the creativity really began! The children whipped up an imaginative feast, making colourful doughnuts, ice cream, coffee, and hot chocolate. 🍩🍦☕ Their storytelling, role-play and fine motor skills were all in full swing as they mixed, shaped, and served their pretend treats to their friends and educators. 🥰 We love watching their imaginations grow and their confidence shine through hands-on, sensory learning experiences like this! 💫 #playdoh #sensoryplay #sensoryactivity #childcare #careforkids #imagination #play

🎨👐 Exploring with Our Senses! 🖌️🌈 Today, the curious nursery three children had a wonderful time diving into some hands-on sensory play! They explored the soft, squishy texture of Play-Doh, carefully pushing icy pole sticks into it and experimenting with how the shapes and sticks fit together. This type of play supports fine motor development, coordination, and early problem-solving — all while having fun! 🟣🟠🟢 Later in the day, the children got messy and creative with sensory painting! Using a mix of bright colours, they explored how the paint felt in their hands, what happened when colours mixed, and how they could make marks on the paper. 🍓🍰 Progressive Afternoon Tea Time 🧁🥄 This afternoon, our children enjoyed a calm and nourishing progressive mealtime, featuring a sweet treat of fresh fruit and cake! 🫐🍎🍰 As part of our daily routine, the children are encouraged to take the lead — they collect their own placemats, bowls, spoons, and drink bottles before sitting down when they feel ready. 🧃🍽️ They also serve themselves their afternoon tea, building confidence, independence, and self-help skills along the way. 🙌💛 Progressive mealtimes allow children to listen to their own hunger cues, eat at their own pace, and enjoy a quieter, more relaxed experience with their peers and educators. 💬🌿 It’s beautiful to see our little learners growing more confident each day through these small but meaningful routines. ✨ #progressivemealtimes #childcare #food #careforkids #afternoontea #fruit #healthychoicesforchildren

National Simultaneous Storytime 2024. 📚 Our kindergarten children headed to the Indooroopilly Library at Indooroopilly Shopping Centre to listen to the story, Bowerbird Blues by Aura Parker. 🐦 This lyrical story follows the journey of a bowerbird on his quest for all things blue, all the while feeling that something is amiss in his life. The bowerbird's collection dominated by plastic caps, straws and tags invites reflection on environmental pollution and its challenges. #careforkids
