At The Rumpus Room, we believe that a children’s centre should support all the essential values of the home, and provide the additional benefits of socialisation and more formal learning from trained staff.
We highly value the imagination of a child and want to give children as many opportunities to be wild in their imaginations. Children are encouraged to use their imaginations to create adventure, to explore their world and to make great friends through effective group activities and play.
Our brand new centre is now open in the heart of Charlestown. This centre boasts a hidden rainforest yard where children can adventure through the trees and along the creek, and purpose built facilities designed to be a place that children love to come to throughout the week.
You are welcome to visit the centre during opening hours; our Parent Liaison, Early Childhood Teachers and Educators, would love to show you around and chat about what we may be able to offer you and your child. Book a tour today!

In January 2012 the National Quality Framework (NQF) came into effect across Australia.
The purpose of the NQF is to improve and standardise the quality of child care through a
range of measures including better staff to child ratios, higher staff qualifications
and an assessment and rating system designed to promote continuous improvement.
Under the NQF child care services are assessed and rated against the National Quality Standards (NQS).
The NQS measures the quality of early childhood education and care in Australia. It will cover
most long day care, family day care, preschool/kindergarten and outside school hours care services.
Under these standards child care services will be assessed and rated against the
seven quality areas, 18 standards and 58 elements that make up the NQS.
