I volunteered at this place for about 20 hours, and I could really see how much the staff love the kids. From what I saw, the kids were treated with love and respect, and the kids were taught well. Was there times I didn’t fully agree with the teaching style? Yes of course, but I always saw the staff being kind towards the kids. I learnt so much about childcare, and I think the staff are heroes, especially Alyssa and Yasmita. I never saw any discrimination towards the kids, despite the kids being of all different religions and backgrounds. I saw an active effort to be inclusive, such as having different skin colours dolls for representation, which one kid was extremely happy with and said ‘She looks like me!’. Additionally, there was not gender bias towards the kids, boys are encouraged to play with dolls, as girls are to play typically male sports. Its this inclusion and love towards the kids that makes MercyCare Lansdale a great place. I would definitely send my kid there. Read more
